Hoy finalizamos la ejecución de la primera fase mecanización y siembra de nuestro proyecto agricola de producción de una hectárea de caraotas negras (phaseolus vulgaris). Lo considero un paso importante por lo díficil que resulta para los pequeños productores llevar adelante este tipo de iniciativa.por la falta de equipos de mecanización, de insumos y los costos. Culminamos la mecanización de la tierra con el paso de la surcadora, y procedimos a la siembra. Es importante destacar que antes de sembrar hicimos pruebas de germinación de la semilla y obtuvimos 100%, ésta prueba nos permite estimar una densidad de siembra de 100.000 puntos para una hectárea, esperamos no más de un 10% incidencias en la eclosión de plantas y perdidas por otros factores, para una efectividad real de germinación entre 250.000 y 270.000 plantas por hectárea.

Today we finished the execution of the first phase of mechanization and sowing of our agricultural project of production of one hectare of black beans (phaseolus vulgaris), I consider it an important step because of the difficulty for small producers to carry out this type of initiative, due to the lack of mechanization equipment, inputs and costs. We completed the mechanization of the land with the furrower and proceeded to planting. It is important to emphasize that before sowing we tested the germination of the seed and obtained 100%, this test allows us to forecast a sowing density of 100,000 points for one hectare, we expect no more than 10% incidences in the hatching of plants and losses due to other factors, for a real effectiveness of germination between 250,000 and 270,000 plants per hectare.

Para garantizar esta densidad de siembra se sembró a una distancia entre puntos de 25 centímetros y entre camellones de 40 centímetros, en esta primera etapa prevemos la aplicación de riego por gravedad, pero la manera en que viene comportándose el clima acá en el estado Monagas, no creemos que vaya a ser necesario. La próxima fase con el proceso de inicia con la germinación, crecimiento, desarrollo, floración y fructificación, esta es la fase más delicada del proceso, por lo que hemos planificado un plan de fertilización, plan integrado de manejo de plagas y malezas. Destacando que vamos a utilizar productos orgánicos para el control de plagas y enfermedades y algunos agroquímicos para la fertilización además de la aspersión con humus, estimamos un tiempo para esta fase de entre 90 y 105 días.

Emphasizing that we are going to use organic products for pest and disease control and some agrochemicals for fertilization in addition to spraying with humus, we estimate a time for this phase of between 90 and 105 days.

En esta fase de siembra disfrute de dos compañeros que estuvieron presentes durante el proceso, caminando por el terreno y alimentándose de los pequeños insectos que emergieron a la superficie del suelo producto al pase de la surcadora, el majestuoso gavilán cari-care y el tímido y misterioso alcaraván, dos especies de aves típicas de nuestras llanuras venezolanas.

During this planting phase, I enjoyed the company of two companions who were present during the process, walking along the ground and feeding on the small insects that emerged to the surface of the soil as a result of the furrower, the majestic cari-care hawk and the shy and mysterious alcaraván, two species of birds typical of our Venezuelan plains.
