Hola hivers

Bienvenidos a mi blog

Hello hivers

Welcome to my blog

Today I come with a reflection of an existentialist and somewhat disturbing tone...

At some point you have thought about the human soul, how sure we are of having a soul. Is there any proof stricto sensu? Perhaps what we think about the soul is nothing more than a compendium of electrochemical reactions of our body.
But can we live without a soul or at least from a certain preconceived idea of one?

I think we take it for granted that we possess something else, something that is not a body. Throughout human history we have given it hundreds of names, soul, spirit, mete, ego, conscience, me and stop counting.

But as the empiricist current philosophy has said: "there is nothing that does not first pass through the senses". So, somehow that which we call soul must pass through senses.
I have thought of certain idea as a mental exercise. If we are born without any soul, our organism is somehow copiling information through our senses, and we are building our world, or rather, our perception about the world.

What if our soul is built with the passage of life, every thing that happens to us, we think and live, that which we can call experience is nothing but construction material, in order to build the enormous structure called soul, whose foundations are the sensory perceptions.

I find it disturbing to be born without a soul, but to build it as time goes by. And what happens at death? With what has been said so far, we can affirm that sensory perceptions are a sufficient and necessary condition for the soul to be given, to be formed. Death is nothing else than the negation of any perception; would the soul be annulled of what we can call existence? Or perchance, would one gain a disembodied vehicle to inhabit an out-of-body place? But if it is out-of-body, it lacks matter, how could it be a place?

I am not here questioning any kind of religious belief, I am just making an argumentative exercise, perhaps because I was seduced by the idea of thinking the soul as something that can be built.

Paraphrasing Maria Zambrano, a philosopher is one who is prepared for death. And thinking about that, it would be incredible to have a post mortem "life", and to meet there all the great characters of history.

I would look for Socrates, Plato and Aristotle, I would love to doubt with Descartes, learn painting from Leonardo, sculpture from Raphael, music from Mozart, strategy from Alexander and Napoleon, I would be in love with Julius Caesar.

But that's another matter, now I ask you:
Do you find it interesting to think of the soul as something that can be built?

And already abandoning the old idea of looking at the body as a prison of the soul, but looking at the body as a school, a place where the soul is educated and reaches excellence.

Thank you for reading me and giving me a little of your attention.
