What is #zapfic? Well I was the first to use the hashtag, so I guess I invented it, and I get to decide what it means.

#zapfic is a very short story written in less than 240 characters*.

Rules

  • Post the 240 character (or less) story to steemit (use whatever you want - steempeak, steemit.com, busy, partiko, or even as a comment! etc - the choice is yours!

  • Use the following hashtags (so you can benefit from my upvotes from the tribe accounts): #palnet, #creativecoin, #marlians. I can upvote you with four different accounts - so if you use those three hashtags you'll earn the tokens pal, marlians and ccc as well as Steem)

  • The story must be no more than 240 characters in length (NOT WORDS) - use a character counter to check (here is one: https://wordcounter.net/). If your story has more than 240 characters it will NOT be considered a #ZapFic

  • The story must be your own work, and previously unpublished

  • If you post a photo (you don't have to, there are no "points" for photos, it is all about the story) please make sure you quote the source. If it is yours, say so!

  • Resteem and upvote welcome but it is not essential

  • The steemit (or busy, or whatever) link to your post must be left in the comment section of this post

  • The deadline for submissions has

passed.

  • The judge’s decision is final (including what constitutes a valid entry)

Prizes

The price pool 6 SBI (#steembasicincome share), 100 Marlians, 100 CCC (creativecoincrypto), 15% of author rewards of this post will be distributed as follows

2 @steembasicincome shares, 33.33 CCC will be given to writers of the top three stories (as judged by me) PLUS each of the 3 winners will be added as a 5% beneficiary of THIS post (5% of the author rewards each)

Everyone who participates will get a share of 100 marlian (divided equally amongst all the valid entrants)

All valid entries will receive a 50% upvote from my felt.buzz account plus if you use the tags #palnet, #marlians, #ccc and #neoxian you will receive an upvote from my tribe curation accounts (@felt.buzz.pal, @felt.buzz.marl, @felt.buzz.ccc and @felt.buzz.neox), and a resteem from @felt.buzz) to over 1550 followers.

The sheriff appeared in silhouette on the horizon. In the weak morning light I mistook him for a corrupt deputy, Conrad. I lifted my 6 shooter, aimed & bang he fell to the floor like a mule. I shot the Sheriff, but I didn't shoot the deputy

I love your Zapfics! It's not as easy as it might look to someone who hasn't tried to make a cohesive interesting story in only 240 characters. I'm going to give this one a shot when I get back from the doctor's office today! It's snowing to beat the band this morning and I have a 70-mile drive one way in to St Louis, so wish me luck, lol.
