A Beautifully Sublime Sunday

avatar

I am fortunate enough to be able to choose what I do each day, within reason, of course. Because I have a job, it has to fit into those parameters, which, if I don't fool around all day on the computer, leaves me plenty of time.

On such a #BeautifulSunday, I choose nature for so many reasons. The softest of whispers. The gentle breeze. The sudden stillness of my heart. The sweetest dreams are made from days like this, as I am tenderly caressed by life.

IMG_1500 yellow petunias.JPGCascading petunias I planted, sitting on my front porch.

You speak of love like you were twins, love and you, to make the world beautiful, coloring it with your nature. The flames ignite by your words, a sublime piece of poetry for my ears. The words blowing in by the gentle breeze.

I choose to focus on the positive things in my life rather than the negative. Some days, it is a little more challenging than others, but, I have to say that there is always something we can be grateful for.

IMG_1506 purple flowers.JPGPurposely popping with color, a shoutout to the color of life!

It is very important to go out alone, to sit under a tree - not with a book, not with a companion, but by yourself - and observe the falling of a leaf, hear the lapping of the water, the fishermen's song, watch the flight of a bird, and of your own thoughts as they chase each other across the space of your mind. If you are able to be alone and watch these things, then you will discover extraordinary riches which no government can tax, no human agency can corrupt, and which can never be destroyed.
― Jiddu Krishnamurti

IMG_1514 Evergreen Tree.JPGI can reach out and touch its beauty

Nature at my fingertips. Now that is a #SublimeSunday right there. I know that this is a big part of my happy. There is just something about the quiet beauty of nature. It surrounds me, the splendor, the majesty - the newness of it all. When the sun rises, it calls for me to start all over again, another day. I breathe it all in.

Earlier today, there was a discussion. It was something that I am very well-versed in and I was right about it. Not being arrogant, it is just something that is in my field of dreams. Being right doesn't make me happy, but, then again, if you are happy, does it matter who is right? No need to stress.

Guess what? Remember those eggs under my evergreen tree? The dozen duck eggs? They hatched when I wasn't looking. I couldn't see it happening any other way. They did the duck walk without the benefit of a camera following them. The interesting thing is that there were only five. I was really glad that I spotted them swimming and didn't have to worry if a predator found them.

I checked the abandoned nest and there were still four eggs left there. Once she has her full clutch, she will sit on the nest, leaving only briefly to eat, for about 28 days. Although the eggs were laid days apart, they will all hatch within 24 hours. I read that it is always possible that some of the eggs in a clutch will not hatch resulting in a brood that is smaller than the duck’s original clutch of eggs.

I want to thank @ace108 for hosting #BeautifulSunday, where you share your day in a post and also @c0ff33a for #SublimeSunday, where any random post will do. I do random! I love my @c0ff33a and he likes eclectic. A match made in heaven.

All I have are my words, armed in my mind, written in pen, stand by stand. Oh, yes. Still by hand. It has a different feel. Altered not by keys, backspace, and delete, I write, erase, tear it to pieces and start all over again. And again.

It’s my way. I walk out to the deep end of the page and dive right in.

The Naming of Cats

The Naming of Cats is a difficult matter,
It isn’t just one of your holiday games;
You may think at first I’m as mad as a hatter
When I tell you, a cat must have THREE DIFFERENT NAMES.

It is great to see those babies going for a swim. The start of another circle of life. You sure got some amazing shots there alright!

I was a little sad that some of them didn't make it, but, Mother Nature knows best, is what I am guessing. I cannot believe I missed the event because I was reading that they normally hatch a few hours after sunrise and spend about ten hours in the nest before going to the water.

What were the chances of me doing that at night? None. Right.

The duck shot was really terrible as I was walking near the pond when I spotted them and the sun was bright, I couldn't even see if I got the shot until I got home, so excuse the blurriness. I was pretty happy I got one at all.

Another chapter in life that is done. They certainly go quick! I'll have to keep an eye on them to make sure snapping turtles don't get them. Strange thing: the male Mallard is nowhere to be found. I thought they mated for life?

Wonderful Sunday flowers with calm water and happy ducks!! I do envy their simple and care free life!! Couldn’t see the sky at the moment here! It’s raining like milk curtain with thunderous music.

Flowers do give me lots of good vibes and boost my energy!

Have a very nice day!

We had that kind of rain two days ago, but, it was in the middle of the night. Most of our rain is at night, which I am grateful for. I don't mind if I remember to bring my umbrella, but, when the sky opens up and pours down on me, if I am dressed to go somewhere, I no longer look presentable! :))

Good morning from here @kaminchan !! My energy is boosted and I am filled with good vibes today! May your week be amazing!

The yellow ones look a bit like yellow bells but also something like the morning glory

They do look a little like morning glories, you are right. But, they really are petunias. I have them in a three-tiered planter on my porch. They add a nice spot of color to it.

Good morning from here, Ace! @ace108

Hehe! That's also!. I apologize for being so late but I powered up everything on power up day and forgot about the League the next day. I had to earn a little bit more money and wait for the payout. Nowadays that don't leave anything behind..

Always beautiful photography Denise, flowers, trees and little ducklings following mom for a swim, what a delightful Sunday.

Interesting how she will return to see if the other eggs will brood out with time delay, she will throw them out if they not viable. Mom's now best she will arrange herself over the next day.

Because the nest is across the street from the water, she will not return, but, will nest down there. Even though ducks lay their eggs at the rate of one a day and there were 12, they all hatch at the same time. Nature rocks, yes? If she leaves the nest, it means the others were not viable. I will do the candle tonight to see if I can make the eggs hollow or if I need to toss them.

I was surprised they don't toss them out of the nest.

Nature rocks, for sure! Animals know instinctively, move on and give the little ones the best start in life.

Watching them grow is such fun being taught to swim and where to forage food, have fun over the coming months.

Sitting quietly in nature is the most relaxing, to spend it without thinking, only breathing in the beauty quietly and breathing out any pent up stress. A lovely post as usual. 💐

As always your words weave delicate pictures in my mind and emotions @dswigle! But my favourite part was having a chuckle over " if I don't fool around all day on the computer, leaves me plenty of time". And yay for those little ducklings! Looking forward to some of your beautiful close up shots. And watching them grow. Isn't it incredible how they naturally hop straight in the water? Nobody has to teach them

I hardly spend any time at all on here, that is what is so funny. When I do get the time, I am rushing to get it done before something else comes up. I would rather be out, perusing the likes of Mother Nature. I go to the pond every day and check the ducklings. They seem to be doing well and when I bring my phone, they are out to far to get good pictures, but, I will bring the camera tomorrow. (it is a big pond)

Instinct has always fascinated me.

I hope you are doing well and life is good to you. ❤️

Well now you know why I found it so funny Denise! I am exactly the same. I would rather be busy with my children outside or creating inside. Although I must say it is usually with my camera at hand. I love taking photos but the writing part is a challenge and demands time at the laptop when I would rather be outside! I burst a blood vessel in my eye last night after two night's running at this machine.
Can we catch up on Discord? Sorry but after my laptop retired I actually forgot to download it again so I'll do so if you can look for me?

Thanks Denise. I'm fine. And the pressure to write on #marketfriday is all on my side! I loved it. I think you'll appreciate my post. It's a fun one......but we had a day of pouring rain (happy dance) and I couldn't take my last photos. So it'll have to wait for next week. Thank you for your concern

No problem. Whenever it gets here, it will be welcomed.

I had torrential rain yesterday, also welcomed and it ruined my #MarketFriday post for this week, so I had to come up with an alternate plan. Don't forget to take care of yourself today! ❤️

WOW! If you ask me, yay, for rain. We had today. Not as much as the greater area. They've had landslides and flooding. Which, if you knew our semi desert conditions has caused huge panic. But we are safe. Our homestead is well watered.

Happy weekend....almost

Blessing indeed!! I do know your conditions and yes! It would raise a panic. I lived in Texas for a few years and flash floods were always a scare!

Happy Weekend to you!

Have a beautiful subline Sunday with your walking around, finding those duck eggs and swimming in the water, some flowers with different angle. I like the quote by krishnamuri about sitting under tree without any stuff and just watching mature is true reaveled of nature.
