January has been a nice month for the crypto world with crypto prices on the move. 3Speak is constantly improving its platform and promoting it to the content creators. Its one of the most prominent dApps on the Steem blockchain.
It’s a video sharing platform, trying to implement the blockchain in the video sharing industry. A platform where you can speak your truth.

Let’s see how they have done in the previous month.

Here we will take a look at the activity on the platform, the overall number of posts and comments, and the number of users. The top content creators for Jan 2020 will be presented as well.

3Speak started its journey somewhere around April 2019 and got more traction in May 2019.

Activity on 3Speak

First let’s see the number of posts, or to be more exact videos coming from the platform.

Here is the chart.

02.png

The number of daily posts has been in an uptrend with a few spikes. The platform is still new and there is a volatility in the number of posts.

The number of posts is increasing, and it has reached an average 50 videos per day in January 2020.

The number of comments showed with red is very small, but this doesn’t tell all the story. These are comments made from 3Speak frontend itself. Most of the comments are made from the Steemit platform. Users watch the video and replay from Steemit.

Here is the chart with the number of comments that has the 3Speak tag in them.

03.png

Here we can see much better picture for the comments. There around 20k comments in total and 9400 posts.

Here is the number of posts summarized by month.

A clear uptrend here with almost 2k reached in Jan 2020.

3Speak Authors

How is 3Speak doing with the number of authors on the platform?

Here is a chart on the number of monthly authors that posted on the 3Speak platform.

05.png

January have seen an immense increase in the number of authors using 3Speak, with 274 authors using the platform to share their videos. It should be noticed that 3Speak has a monthly subscription model for authors. It’s a small fee that authors need to pay in order to use the platform.

Next the number of unique authors that posted on the 3Speak platform. These are authors that posted directly through 3Speak frontend.

06.png

The sharp increase in the number of authors posting with 3Speak in January is also visible here with the number of unique authors rising even more. A total of 433 authors have used 3Speak to post.

One more thing to add here is that the platform started its journey in a bear year for Steem and bad STEEM prices. They have been building in these conditions preparing for the bulls. Interesting to see how will thing develop, but the numbers from the last month looks encouraging.

3Speak Votes

3Speak supports its content creators with votes from their official @threespeak account. It has a bit more than a 1 million SP. A lot of the times @oracle-d and @theycallmedan also joins the party and vote on 3Speak content.

Here we will be looking into the number of votes from the official @threespeak account.

Here is the chart.

The voting started in June 2019, with the number of daily votes growing up until October, when there are days with 250 votes. Afterwards the number of daily votes stabilized and in January 2020 the average number of daily votes is 65. Nice job from 3Speak supporting the content creators and distributing rewards.

Yeah seems most stats are off by a lot according to https://steemapps.com/

Not a good look for Steem.

I'm not sure what exactly they track .... and what is the definition of an active user ... like if you define an active user on steem as someone who is posting or commenting, or an active user who is voting, transacting, or making custom jsons ... big diferences there

Edit ... just saw the wehmoen comment .... they track transactions ... not very relevant for most of the dapps .... maybe the gambling once only :)

I think 3speak is good for hosting videos to post on steemit but the site needs a lot of work to make it easier to use and more attractive.

The analytics are on point. I wonder to know did you use a specific tool to request the information that's related to coding python.
