Justin Bieber - Somebody (Paris Performance)

There has been some good music coming out this week but there was one release that captured my attention too much and that is Justin Bieber's performance in Paris.

In this opportunity, Justin released a performance that left my mouth open, where he plays some of the songs from his most recent album, Justice. This presentation consists of 5 videos that were recorded in different spaces of the Hôtel De Crillon in Paris, and the amazing thing about it is in the quality of the videos because they look like film shots, without exaggerating, they achieve beautiful frames taken from a movie.

I won't talk about all the videos because it would be too long (and because video reactions are coming too) but I'll give you my impressions about Somebody.

Esta semana ha salido buena música pero hubo un estreno que capturó demasiado mi atención y es la presentación de Justin Bieber en Paris.

En esta oportunidad Justin estrenó una presentación que me dejó boca abierta, donde toca algunos de los temas de su album mas reciente, Justice. Esta presentación consta de 5 videos que fueron grabados en espacios diferentes del Hôtel De Crillon en Paris, y lo alucinante del asunto está en la calidad de los videos pues parecen tomas de cine, sin exagerar, logran encuadres preciosos sacados de película.

No hablaré de todos los videos porque sería demasiado extenso (y porque se vienen videoreacciones también) pero les daré mis impresiones sobre Somebody.

I love Somebody, in fact it's one of my favorites on the album, so it's a relief that this live performance not only does it justice but also takes the song up a notch.

The live arrangement gives more presence to the electric guitar, incorporates more complex fills on the drums and more embellishments on the keyboard. All this level up is thanks to the performance of @wetheband, the combo of professional musicians who accompany Justin, which by the way includes Devon Taylor, a drummer who performs excellently in gospel, hip hop and trap, so it's great to hear how he nurtures Justin's song without overloading, it's great.

Somebody me encanta, de hecho es de mis favoritas del disco, por lo que es un alivio que esta presentación en vivo no solo le haga justicia sino que suba de nivel la canción.

El arreglo en vivo le da mayor presencia a la guitarra eléctrica, incorpora fills mas complejos en la batería y más adornos en el teclado. Todo este level up es gracias a la ejecución de @wetheband, el combo de músicos profesionales que acompañan a Justin, donde por cierto se encuentra Devon Taylor, un baterista que desempeña excelente en el gospel, hip hop y trap, por lo que es una genialidad escuchar como nutre la canción de Justin sin sobrecargar, es buenísimo.

Besides the arrangement, the effervescence and the performance that the musicians have in this presentation makes me like it much more than the studio version, because here you can see how they enjoy the song, they play with passion, they raise their hands up and live the movie, it's a tremendous show.

As for the video, no way. The colorization is beautiful, I love that the sky looks super pink which combines with the beanie that Justin wears, super cute. Also, having the view of the Efiel tower in the background, next to the pink sky, is a perfect landscape for that song.

I think the result is impeccable, musically, visually, aesthetically, it has an incredible level, so I recommend you to see not only this song but the whole presentation.

Además del arreglo, la efervescencia y el desempeño que tienen los músicos en esta presentación hace que me guste mucho más que le versión estudio, porque acá se ve como disfrutan la canción, tocan con pasión, suben las manos hacía arriba y se viven la película, es tremendo show.

En cuanto al video, ni se diga. La colorización es preciosa, me encanta que el cielo se ve super rosa lo cual combina con el gorrito que usa Justin, super cute. Además, tener la vista de la torre Efiel al fondo, junto al cielo rosa, es un paisaje que queda perfecto para esa canción.

Por donde lo vea me parece que el resultado es impecable, musicalmente, visualmente, estéticamente, tiene un nivel increible, por lo que les recomiendo ver no solo esta canción sino la presentación completa.

Alfa Mist - Teki

Alfa Mist is a jazz and hip hop pianist, composer and producer, I love his music, but this is the kind of music that my jazz friends and I enjoy so it's kind of the not so mainstream recommendation of the week.

Teki is a smooth hip hop jazz track, it's not acid but actually has some pretty beautiful trumpet and clarinet lines that really nourish the harmony of the song. As it's jazz obviously the track is long as it has solos, and you could say it's in Jamie Leeming's guitar solo where the track gets a bit acid, otherwise it's pretty laid back.

Alfa Mist es un pianista, compositor y productor de jazz y hip hop, su música me encanta, pero este es el tipo de música que mis amigos jazzistas y yo disfrutamos asi que es como la recomendación no tan mainstream de la semana.

Teki es un tema de jazz hip hop suave, no es ácido sino que de hecho tiene unas lineas de trompeta y clarinete bastante preciosas que nutren mucho la armonía de la canción. Como es jazz obviamente el tema es largo pues tiene solos, y se podría decir que es en el solo de guitarra de Jamie Leeming donde se pone un poco ácido el tema, de resto es bastante relajado.

My favorite element of this song is the bass clarinet, I was surprised that they used this instrument since it is not so usual in today's contemporary jazz, but it certainly gives a beautiful color to the theme, and together with the trumpet it complements a lot, giving warmth to the theme.

On the other hand I liked the arpeggios on the guitar and the sample at the end of the song, which has a message about change, the future and time. This is a track that I recommend for the most exquisite hatreds.

Mi elemento favorito de esta canción es el clarinete bajo, me sorprendió que usaran este instrumento ya que no es tan usual en el jazz contemporaneo de hoy día, pero sin duda le da un color precioso al tema, y junto a la trompeta de complementa muchísimo, dándole calides al tema.

Por otro lado me gustaron los arpegios en la guitarra y el sample que incluyen al final de la canción, el cual tiene un mensaje sobre el cambio, el futuro y el tiempo. Este es un tema que recomiendo para los odios más exquisitos.
