Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson confirmed that with the release of the Goguen update by the end of the year, the blockchain will be able to activate Smart Contracts and will be able to manage complex operations as currently happens on Ethereum for Decentralized Finance.

All this is possible by means of the implementation of metadata, additional information inserted in each block produced on the blockchain that allows to keep numerous complex data, typical of DeFi. Each block produced has a size of 16 KB and the fundamental information about the transaction takes up only a few bytes, thus allowing considerable space to store complex data.

The advantages of the Cardano blockchain are many compared to Ethereum:

• Decentralization: with the upgrade to the Shelley version, Cardano has migrated from PoW to PoS, with considerable energy efficiency, no longer needing the miners and therefore the enormous consumption of electricity
• Scalability: the number of transactions is such as to guarantee up to 1000 transactions per second. Ethereum reached its peak of daily transactions in September 2020 of over 1.4 million Cardano can currently handle over 84 million transactions per day.
• Economical: due to the overcrowding of transactions on the Ethereum network, the cost of each individual transaction has even reached $ 50, unacceptable for small investors. With Cardano, the cost of each single transaction is a few cents, paid in ADA, the currency used on the blockchain.

The difficulty will be in convincing insiders to use Cardano rather than Ethereum for the many factors just described. The ingredients are truly all there to make DeFi more accessible to everyone and safer from hacker attacks. The security protocols are really efficient and the team of developers and researchers is remarkable.

The earning potential is also enormous, considering that 1 ADA = approximately $ 0.10, almost as much as 1 HIVE and less than 1 LEO. In the period of the great boom ADA reached the value of $ 1 and I am convinced that with the added implementations and future developments it is very likely that we can go even beyond this maximum value.

Tutto ciò è possibile per mezzo dell'implementazione dei metadati, informazioni aggiuntive inseriti in ogni blocco prodotto sulla blockchain che consentono di conservare numerosi dati complessi, tipici della DeFi. • Economicità: a causa del sovraffollamento delle transazioni sulla rete Ethereum, il costo di ogni singola transazione ha toccato anche quota 50$, inaccettabile per i piccoli investitori. Con Cardano, il costo di ogni singola transazione è di pochi centesimi, pagati in ADA, la moneta utilizzata sulla blockchain.

La difficoltà sarà nel convincere gli addetti ai lavori ad utilizzare Cardano piuttosto che Ethereum per i molteplici fattori appena descritti. Gli ingredienti ci sono davvero tutti per rendere la DeFi più accessibile a tutti e più sicura dagli attacchi degli hacker. I protocolli di sicurezza sono davvero efficenti ed il team di sviluppatori e ricercatori è notevole.
