Jamaican music
Jamaican hot rhythms are the result of the fusion of African elements (blues, rock and roll, soul) from Africa and nearby Caribbean islands such as Trinidad and Tobago. Music conceived to be enjoyed playing and dancing.
But Jamaican music is not only enjoyed on the island, its influence has been extended by other styles in different countries. In particular, the practice of toasting (the act of speaking or singing, usually in a monotonous way, on a rhythm) by Jamaican immigrants in New York evolved to become the origin of rap.
Reggae is especially popular thanks to the international fame of artists like Bob Marley. Jamaican music has had an important influence on other styles in different countries.
Other genres that have been influenced by Jamaican music are rock, punk and jungle.

The mento
Mento: it uses acoustic instruments, such as the guitar, the banjo, different drums and the marimula.
The sky
The sky: it uses acoustic instruments, such as the guitar, the banjo, different drums and the marímbula.
The rocksteady
The rocksteady: originated in Jamaica around 1966. The use of wind instruments was reduced, making the electric guitar, bass and piano key elements.
