En gran parte del juego, dependieron de la destreza del Brasileño Neymar, este último, no pudo superar a la defensa del director técnico Pep Guardiola, la cual se planto bien y ocupo espacios a medida que iba transcurriendo el cotejo. ¿Algo más para añadir?. Sinceramente, el conjunto inglés es digno de estar en esta instancia tan decisiva de la UEFA Champions League. Su fortaleza y poderío en el ataque, lo hizo ser un equipo temible.

A medida que iban transcurriendo los minutos, el elenco blanco veía como Édouard Mendy, le ahogaba el grito de gol a los merengues, quienes con Toni Kroos y Luka Modrić en la zona medular de la cancha, movían el balón en varios sectores de la cancha, buscando un hueco en el fondo defensivo del cuadro azul. En esta competición de la Copa de Europa, tanto él Manchester City Football Club y Chelsea Football Club, dieron un recital en lo defensivo y en lo individual, dejando a sus rivales con mucha comodidad en los octavos, cuartos y semifinales. Con respecto a los técnicos, Pep Guardiola, tiene dos títulos en la UEFA Champions League como entrenador del Fútbol Club Barcelona y otras dolorosas caídas en semifinales cuando dirigía al Bayern de Múnich, de Alemania. Sólo tiene dos campeonatos. En cambio, Thomas Tuchel, estratega del Chelsea Football Club, sólo tiene una final, la cual perdió ante el Bayern de Múnich cuando estuvo al mando del PSG en el año 2020.
