Oh that's awesome. But I'm wondering, is this a course for building radios? Because the title says amateur radio, but those are all circuitry diagram symbols. The textbook looks like it covers building or repairing.

The Basic does not cover building, but Yes those symbols are different components that we learn about and have to understand how they affect transmission and reception of radio in the licensed amateur bands.
There are two possible passing levels, Basic and Basic with Honours. I am shooting for Basic with Honours as it enables me (as a Canadian Amateur) to transmit on all allowed Canadian bands, just limits power and transceiver building.

That's awesome. I didn't realize you needed to be licensed to transmit. I assume this is AM radio right? Because FM requires larger transmitters and lots of power. But I guess it makes sense that anyone conducting a public broadcast needs to know how to maintain a decent signal quality and know their laws as well. I know I'm late responding but I wish you luck.

Thanks, I passed with Honours.

As a licensed Amateur I can transmit on specified frequencies, across AM, FM ,SSB and code.

Congrats man that's awesome! Do you have a particular plan for what you're going to broadcast? You should do simulcast specials where you livestream to YT etc while you're broadcasting. A lot of radio does that now and it's pretty cool to watch.

I haven't decided, but I am interested in the digital communications stuff that I am now licensed to experiment with.

I have started a Ham Radio community that I will post any of that stuff to.
