Ulog: Sleeping Well
Sleeping is my Superpower
Ask most moms.
They are tired and they don't sleep well.
Today is the second day in a row I was able to wake before the alarm.
Both times I rolled over and went back to sleep, but recognized that if my pattern kept up, I would be able to lay in bed and meditate instead.
The Secret?
Sleeping when my kids sleep
Just like when they were babies.

I am writing as a job now, and I tried to carve out a schedule that would let me write at night when it is quiet and everybody is asleep. It turns out, I can't function (well) that way. I end up tired all day and wanting to browse online instead of get to work at night because "I deserve a rest."
Then I give myself a break.
And end up with a long list of things to do, and calling myself a procrastinator, and feeling bad about myself.
Instead, I am now carving out a schedule that gives me less hours of writing, but a whole lot more quality hours of writing.
In the hours when all three of the kids are at school. I am writing and only writing, paid writing gigs (steem and its "this is a great investment in my future" dream that is fun and lovely but does not pay the mortgage TODAY does not count).
I am also making sure to SLEEP every day, from 9 pm when all the kids go to sleep, to 6 am when the first kid starts wakes up. Eventually, I will naturally be waking up at 5:15 is which will give me a good 45 minutes of "morning me time."
It feels as if I get enough sleep and carve out time for writing, then everything will work out.
No need to force a writing schedule at midnight when I "think" I have time to write.
Write at the time that was gifted to me.

I am cross posting this to the int app as it turns my sleep is directly affected by my self employment.
Lucky you .... I try ... but end up just laying in bed for hours .
Have you tried breathing exercises? There are specific ones for sleep the 4 7 8 method is super relaxing.

Sleeping is a superpower!! Haha I like that! It’s true though for those who manage to get it.
I sleep when my youngest ones sleep because my older ones are able to fend for themselves while I’m out for an hour or two. I make sure they are occupied and have what they need before I am
off to dreamland. But yes sleeping while your kids sleep does work ;)
I’m glad you’ve been able to get more rest ~
