Most days, when it is not raining I take a stroll down to the waterfront, this is because it is my routine and also I walk to be active in ACTIFIT, great for my well being. Now I usually stop at the pool hall shoot some pool or just talk, drink a coca cola. Now right in front of the pool hall there is a park, it is located in an area that used to be railroad tracks when we had an export wharf here.

Now this park is small it has almond trees and some fruits which I really don't know their name in English, here they are called yuyugas. These two fruits are excellent to go along with the local white rum. You see this park is the meeting place for a lot of people, drunks, crack addicts, cripples, beggars, ladies of the night, gays, people from out of town who have nowhere to stay at. But it is a very safe place, undoubtedly some of these guys are criminals but they have their morals nobody is ever mugged or anything here.

That is the reason I always go there the place is safe, and also it is fun you wouldn't believe the things that happen here, of course the downside is that you are very likely to be asked for money from anyone here, you have to have a no ready at any moment or they will just bleed you dry.

Now there used to be a lot of sleazy bars around this place but most of them closed because the owners of the land they were on asked them for it, so now we only have four bars around the place, more than enough I think.

Anyway today I was at the pool hall when all of a sudden an ambulance showed up with its sirens at full blast. They had been called because one of the drunks had fallen all of a sudden and they didn't know if it was the alcohol or maybe a heart attack. The ambulance guys jumped out and went directly to the park where there was a guy flopped out on a bench. When they tried to pick him up he woke up and cursed them out. Wrong drunk. So they had to ask around,
turns out the guy with the attack was inside one of the bars where the ambulance eventually got and then they of course put him on a stretcher got him into the ambulance and they went off with him to the hospital.

I don't know what his condition was I was told it was probably a strong case of intoxication. But the thing is you can get confused around here, there are a lot of strange, funny people who call this place their grounds.
