Monochrome Monday - Ferris Wheel in Lviv

The recreation park, now called the Bogdan Khmelnitsky Cultural Park, was opened in Lviv in 1951-1959 on the site of the former brick plants. Subsequently, given the popularity of the park, there were some attractions here: laughter room, billiards room, dance floor, outdoor summer stage. The Ferris wheel that opens the panorama of the city was built later in the 1970s. The Ferris wheel in Lviv is not impressive in size (its height is 24 meters), but the landscape that opens from it completely compensates for it. Since the attraction is far from new (the mechanism has been around for over 25 years), every year before it is opened, it undergoes an expert examination. The cabins are not glazed, so it is nice to ride it only in good weather. These photos were taken by me during one of my visits to the amusement park.	Парк відпочинку, який зараз називається парком культури імені Богдана Хмельницького, було відкрито у Львові у 1951-1959 роках на місці колишніх цегельнь. Згодом, враховуючи популярність парку, тут були влаштовані деякі атракціони: кімната сміху, більярдна, танцювальний майданчик, відкрита літня сцена. Колесо огляду, з якого відкривається панорама міста, було збудоване пізніше, у 1970-тих роках. Колесо огляду у Львові не вражає своїми розмірами (його висота 24 метри), але краєвид, який з нього відкривається, повністю це компенсує. Оскільки атракціон далеко не новий (механізму вже більше 25 років), щороку перед відкриттям він проходить експертне обстеження. Кабінки не засклені, тому кататися на ньому приємно тільки за гарної погоди. Ці фото зроблені мною під час одного із моїх візитів до парку розваг.
