A perspective on a possible war between the U.S. and Iran

avatar

A few days ago I stumbled upon this twitter thread which I linked in chat for others to read. As someone who has little knowledge of war history this person seemed to know a bit more so it was an interesting read. Today he had posted another thread after the recent retaliatory attacks from Iran and I noticed an interesting tweet he had pinned which said this:

so I figured I'd do something similar like the other post from last night where I'd share some of his content here and offer him the rewards as a donation in crypto or steem along with a Steem account if he's interested. Maybe other twitter users here can let him know about our censorship free platform at the same time, this is a link to his twitter: https://twitter.com/tomiahonen

His thread on January 3rd:

His recent thread:

Pretty interesting take on the matter, although he could've maybe been a bit more subtle about the POTUS' incompetence. :P

Anyway, if you made it this far into the post then go ahead and send him a message of what you think about his threads and let him know about Steem if you want. I'll offer him a free Steem account and the rewards of this post if he joins or I'll send them after 7 days in another crypto if he accepts it.

Here's his twitter again

He makes some solid points and I agree with, him on much of the things. Steemit does have censorship, you can get downvotes if someone doesn't what you've posted...but it's on the minimal this days

Not censorship really, your followers will still see your post on their feed whereas on Twitter they can just not show your tweet to your follower's wall.

Well, I think either side now will not want a war. Iran needed face saving with those rocket attacks and Trump was kind of you know in an acceptance mood for that, coz it didn't seem to be humiliated him either. I may be wrong but this is what I think.

I'm def not a Trump fanboy but tend to support his policy decision that put America first.

Generally speaking, I think the policy has been favorable for us considering low unemployment and our economy.

Hell, I regret buying into the recession hype of the MSM as it caused me to make some regrettable decisions concerning my 401k but that's another topic.

My thoughts on this is either:

  1. Trump playing 4d chess and called Iran's bluff. The retaliatory missle strikes is just propaganda and de-escalation will follow.

  2. Trump let his ego get ahead of him choosing to kill a particular bad man when there are plenty in the world. There may be an escalation to the ineffective missile strike because again.. his ego. This could prove disastrous.

I'm inclined to believe #1 is the case and hope so.

Some people are longing after "strong leaders" and want president to have as much power as possible.

The worst case scenario can happen because Trump has too much power. Not like I'd trust US two party system either, but still..

After all, I'm quite happy that our president's greatest power is to take selfies with kids who are playing hockey.
