It is always a courageous move film a completely new TV Series with relatively unknown actors in it, but it’s easier when you situate the series inside the fantasy Middle Age… Somehow, those TV shows are easier to “swallow” for the audience and usually are rated better than others. And it helps if you are doing that on Netflix… :) The TV Series is based on the bestselling novel by Tonke Dragt from 1962, and it was filmed in dutch in 2008.

The story follows Tiuri, a teenage squire, who accepts a dangerous mission to deliver a secret letter to the King, passing through three kingdoms… He will not do that alone, as he will find friends during the mission that will help him overpass fears and all the enemies on the journey...

There are more directors for this TV series, and some of them are Alex Holmes, Charles Martin and Felix Thompson, known for the movie King Jack (2015) and a few short movies as Bedford Park Boulevard (2010) or The Third One This Week (2010)

In the main roles are Islam Bouakkaz (TV Series After Life (2019)), Jack Barton (TV Series Grantchester (2020)), Ruby Ashbourne Serkis (Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll (2010), National Treasure (2016), The Serpent (2020)), Jonah Lees (TV Series Sun Records (2017), Tale of Tales (2015), Eric & Ernie (2011)), Amir Wilson (The Kid Who Would Be King (2019), The Secret Garden (2020)), David Wenham (The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003), 300 (2006), Gettin' Square (2003)) and others.
