My search for proof of Tron buying Steemit

So I read all the articles about the Justine Sun of Tron planning to buy or has already bought Steemit. So I wanted to find out if I could prove it.

So I went to Justin Sun
S Twitter where he announces acquisitions. There’s no news about the Steemit acquisition. Then I searched the topic on the internet. I checked 15 different sources and not one had an interview with Justin Sun or quote from another news source who met with Justine Sun. All of these articles referred to other articles, chiefly the Mars Finance article written in Chinese, here’s the website; link . I went there hoping to copy and paste the article into Google Translate but the page is in English and the last article is dated January 11th, 2019. There is no Tron-Steemit article there. I know that Mars Financial is a news platform based in Asia and I believe it’s in China, but this website had no articles about Tron-Steemit purchase. Now it’s possible that there’s a Chinese version of the site, but I can’t find any links to that site, so a news platform in Asia may have multilingual platform, but it’s usually possible to figure that out looking at the menu.

I then looked at the 15 sources and I have listed my findings below, but essentially they all refer to the Mars Financial website, which I can’t find.

Article one: Globalcoin research

Story by Global Coin Research 12/09/19 says Justin Sun of Tron wants to buy Steemit. But the Mars Finance Link is to Huoxing24 News and the page is blank. Reports are that the story there was taken down, so I guess that explains the blank page. link

According to Chinese media Mars Finance, Justin Sun is looking to acquired Steemit, a part blogging platform, part social network, that rewards contributors with Steem tokens. Steemit was created by Ned Scott and EOS founder Dan Larimer. The team launched the social media platform Steemit as the first application built upon Steem blockchain.
source one

Mars Finance, a Chinese media platform recently invested by Binance, Matrixport, and other influential investors in China, just reported that Justin Sun said that he has wrapped up multiple acquisitions in the last week, and is about to announce the acquisition of the crypto social platform Steemit.

Article Two: Coinspeaker
source two

News website coinspeaker reported this news also, and cited two Chinese language news sources: MARS FINANCE and Huoxing24, BUT notes the Huoxing24 story was taken down later. Hmmm.

According to the Mars Finance Weibo channel, Justin Sun said that his company had received two new companies during a series of acquisitions. Later, the secret source in TRON told Mars Finance that the plans to unite with Steemit are true. More than that, a Chinese news website Huoxing24 reported the same information, however, the article is gone from their website at the time of writing.

Article Three: Cryptonews

source three

New site Cryptonews also reported a Justin Sun acquisition of Steemit, but it’s Source was the Huoxing24 article, which is now taken down from their website.

According to Chinese news site huoxing24.com, Justin Sun is considering buying the Steemit content platform. The Mars Finance news platform claims that it has learned from sources in charge of the case that TRON is in the process of integrating steemite into its ecosystem. In early December, Sun caused a sensation when he announced on Twitter that he was about to take over a large distributed platform.

Article Four: Publish0x

Founder Justin Sun is set to add to the collections of projects he has at hand, as a report claims the CEO is set to purchase content distribution platform Steemit.
Tron is about to expand by bringing in blockchain content platform Steemit into its family, a Chinese new platform has said. Chinese news platform Mars Finance claimed it was informed by a familiar source that Tron is about to add Steemit to its stream of networks in the blockchain industry. Previously in early December, Justin Sun hinted on an acquisition to strengthen the potency of Tron and BitTorrent ecosystem.

However the same article quoted a source from the Public Relations firm which handles Tron PR as saying the reports were false.

Meanwhile, Nadav Dakner, CEO of InboundJunction & Marketacross, a PR and media group representing TRON and other top crypto projects such as Binance, Huobi,, Qtum, eToro and many others, told NewsLogical that the news is fake and TRON is not acquiring Steemit. He said the said report is misleading and false.

Article Five: American Cryptocurrency Association website. However their source is the Mars Finance article.

Later, the secret source in TRON told Mars Finance that the plans to unite with Steemit are true. More than that, a Chinese news website Huoxing24 reported the same information, however, the article is gone from their website at the time of writing.

Article Six: Elevennews reports on the rumors, but has no sources list to support the reports of the acquisition, but has a clearly cited source saying the report is false.

Tron founder, Justin Sun is prepared to add to the leagues of projects he is handling, as the CEO is ready to buy content distribution platform Steemit. Tron is looking at expanding by bringing in blockchain content platform Steemit into its team. Tron continues to grow amidst the bearish crypto market trend. Justin Sun recently declared on Twitter that the number of registered TRON accounts has grown from 4,190,559 to 4,262,802 within the last 14 days. Although, the public should have it at the back of their mind that the statistics do not take into account the number of active accounts. Steemit gives access to users to get revenue for their content, producing a decentralized platform for content writers. This is working towards the goal of Tron to decentralize the internet. Steemit, if truly acquired by Tron will be a great match for the Tron ecosystem as Tron endeavors to give internet users the freedom they deserve.
However this article also contains a disclaimer This PR company, which handles Trans PR claims the reports are false.

In the meanwhile, the CEO of InboundJunction & Marketacross, Nadav Dakner, a PR and media group representing TRON and other top crypto projects like Qtum, Binance, eToro, Huobi, and several others, has declared that the speculation of the acquisition is false. According to him, the news is quite deceptive and fabricated.

well to make sure if it's true, maybe the steemit team should write about this matter.

Yeah I am wondering if they like the positive effect and news coverage regardless of whether it’s true or not, alternatively it could be a deal in progress they can’t speak about. In any event I think it’s free advertising.

Thank you for investigating this issue. I sincerely doubt that it would happen, but I wonder what direction TRON would take Steemit if they did take ownership?

Your welcome and good question. I understand Tron was originally meant to be a social media content site, so maybe he plans to move content creators to Tton somehow with incentives? Not sure

I couldn't find anything to verify this rumor either.

But it's interesting that no one is denying it either! Why doesn't Justin Sun or someone from Steemit just say there is no truth to the rumor? I've tweeted to justinsuntron asking if it's true; no answer.

I made a half-serious half-joking comment to @andrarchy in his post about 2 cats in one bowl, and he didn't deny anything. I assume he saw it; almost no one else commented his post.

It's frustrating to have no one come forward to say yes or no to this. But I guess there may be legal or business reasons to not confirm until it's a done deal. We just have to wait and see what happens.

I think you bring up two really good points,

  1. No one is denying it
  2. Short term it has been free advertising
  3. Short term it has boosted the price

I guess you are also right that there may be some non-disclosure clause during a period of due diligence by the buyer. We will just have to wait and see....

Wow! Thanks for checking all those sources. I must admit I agree that while there isn’t conclusive evidence that doesn’t mean it won’t happen, due diligence and the like could be done.

Of course, it's false. I've seen this before. But if it was a deliberate lie, it was a while lie. As long as that shit is not overdone, I can live with rumors like that giving us temporary respite from the downtrend in the price.
