She was stopped at Manchester Airport while attempting to fly to Turkey with her family. A Muslim woman is finally jailed for downloading terror manuals.

Hijabi Jihadi

Yesterday Saria Saugir Hamid of Boyle Street, Cheetham Hill was sentenced to twenty-eight months in prison, of which she will serve a minimum fourteen months. Saira was jailed for five offences she committed which relate to the collection of terrorist information, likely to be useful to a person preparing for or committing an act of terrorism, contrary to Section 58(1)(b) of the Terrorism Act 2000.

Saira pleaded guilty to the charge at an earlier hearing because she had little choice. Back in July earlier this year Saira intended to travel to Turkey with her family, all flying from Manchester. Police officers stopped Saira at the airport where Specialist Counter-Terrorism officers looked at her phone only to find she downloaded numerous magazines providing instructions on planning terrorist attacks.

Islamic State published the magazines which contained articles encouraging the reader to engage in acts of terrorism.

Detective Superintendent William Chatterton, of Counter Terrorism Policing for the North West, said:

"As terrorist propaganda can be used as a tool in the radicalisation of others, it is a real and serious threat which we remain committed to tackling."
It's so serious Saria Saugir Hamid will likely only serve fourteen months!

Why are we surprised? To be quite honest I would have let her and her family fly out to Turkey revoke there passports and British citizenship and let them rot in a refugee camp.

To be quite honest I would have let her and her family fly out to Turkey then revoke there passports and British citizenship and let them rot in a squalid refugee camp in the middle of knowwhere.
