Autumn Equinox - Time To Bring All Into Balance
Living a life connected to the earth, enables us to to live in sync with the seasons, transforming with the natural cycles , and connecting with ourselves on a deeper level. All around us things are changing, the last of the fruit and nuts are ripening on the trees and the animals are busy harvesting food, in preparation for the winter. The mornings and nights are cooler and we find ourselves spending more time indoors.
This desire to spend more time indoors, is a reflection of our need to travel inwards. To focus our energy on ourselves and our personal growth. Just as the sap in the trees is travelling downwards towards the roots, so must we focus our energy inwards, so that we can have the strength within, to nurture the seeds we instill over the winter .
For we are reflections of nature, our bodies responding to the changes that occur naturally throughout the year. If we ignore those changes then we become more out of touch with our natural body clock.
The Equinox it is all about bringing ourselves into harmony. Finding the right balance between the light and the dark, between the masculine and feminine energies that reside within us all. Reconciling the opposites within our lives, so that we can move forward in harmony with the earth, in harmony with ourselves. This is the time to reconcile the conscious and unconscious aspects of our self.
By taking the time to acknowledge the seasons, to acknowledge and celebrate the cycles of the moon and the sun, we allow ourselves to connect with those cycles and that celebration becomes a celebration of self. We need to slow down, to listen to and observe what is going on in the world around us. Our disconnection occurs because our focus is being taken away from the natural world, from our natural self.
There are too many distractions in the world today, so many things that draw us outwards, ideas and thoughts that have been instilled in us over the years, taking us upwards and away. Away from connecting with the earth, with the sky. How many of us know the Phases of the moon, now how to tell the time by the position of the sun in the sky. How many take the time to look, to sit outside and just be present, fully present observing the natural cycle of things.
Life and death and rebirth, within ourselves, surrounding us, yet because of the fear that has been instilled in us, so many turn away from that which deepens our connection to the earth. Running away from ourselves!
It is so important to allow ourselves this time, to feel these changes within ourselves, there is so much unbalance in the world because so many ignore the call of nature, the call to reconnect.
I seek to bring more balance into my life, to accept and embrace the grief and the pain that this year has brought me, whilst also embracing the powerful force of life that surrounds us all. Yes life and death walk side by side, for we can not have one without the other. We cannot have love without pain, the light without the dark, both of them have guided me and both have transformed me.
Now is the time to bring ourselves into balance and accept ourselves for who we have become, take the time to say these words to yourself, even better if you say them out loud.
I love and accept myself, just the way I am!

ha its funny autumn is my time to be outside. even winter, i love tromping thru the woods as long as it isnt too cold. i hibernate in summer. until the sun goes down..
I am outdoors all weather too, I love the cold crisp winter days, it is important to embrace all seasons xx

I wonder if for many the connection to nature is scary, because it acknowledges mortality. We've pulled away from her in order to conquer and improve on her. Yet time after time it's proven to be a mistake.

exactly, nature is all about cycles life death and rebirth, so many get stuck in life and have no idea how important it is to embrace change so that we can be reborn xx
Interesting dialog here. I can understand how one could see that to be possible. It isn't for me because I understand that we are energetic beings just borrowing a physical body. We are all connected and one with the Universe. Our vibration is connected and once the physical body is done our energy is still very much alive. I also think people get stuck in a pattern. It's that system of wake up, get dressed, go to work, spend the money, then do it all over again. It's such a repetitive pattern it is trance-like. Like you are hypnotised by the system. Once you break free and reconnect, it's something you don't ever want to lose. Such a profound feeling.
Happy Equinox! I seriously enjoyed my moment of meditative inflection yesterday. There were tears.

The best response to imbalance is to see it for what it is: illusion. Step far enough away from something, or look at its essence closely enough, and it is never what it seems. Every breath is perfect balance, as is every heartbeat. Draw your attention there and allow that perfection to ripple outwards.
Enjoy the changes, allow and even welcome them. The passings and endings create space and renewal. And all is well.

exactly all is inbalance when we take the time to slow down and observe, gentle reminders are needed sometimes when life can feel like it is pulling us in many directions and we feel like we have no control. Yet it all rests within us, happy Equinox my friend xxxx
I miss seasonal changes sometimes, we hardly even notice them so close to the equator here in Suriname.
