In the interest of making this test post more interesting I'm going to turn it into a spontaneous review of Terrive. I found out about it today and decided to do a quick test thanks to the good old Hive.Pizza Discord:

I hopped on over to the website and discovered it to be very barebones at the moment:

The emptiness was vast and I felt lonely. I quickly searched for any content I could find:

When I was unable to find anything on the platform yet I decided to try uploading one of my recent pictures to the new platform. I used that field picture from my recent actifit post because you can't upload directly to Terrive- you need an image that is already hosted elsewhere. It's pretty awesome that you can do video's though!

I copied the image URL directly from my actifit post, wrote test in the description, tagged it with hivepizza and it showed up. Sweet! looks good! Reminds me of Instagram:

The problem is here is how it showed up in the PeakD feed:

Not sure how it got a random alphanumeric string as a title...
I'm also not sure how I feel about being unable to upload things directly to it...
And not sure how I feel about the choice of font. It's stylish but not the easiest to read!

I fully get this is brand new and probably in development. I knew nothing about it this morning and had never heard of it. Still. I clicked the FAQ's link when trying to upload my image and it took me nowhere. It needs some work.

I feel like it would be useful if it could collect the images from already existing posts and display them in an Instagram style feed.

I wonder if that is what it is trying to accomplish based on how the user profile page looks? 🤔

If that is the aim then I am all for it but it needs to interface correctly with the rest of Hive so a post on Terrive doesn't mess with people's content on their regular Blog. That's the main reason I am editing this initial post into a review...

I'll have my eyes on this to see how it develops- definitely has some potential!

I don't think you can upload images directly, it needs to be hosted somewhere already... that's why I used an image already hosted on my hive blog. If you figure out how to upload them directly let me know! !PIZZA

Hey @dibblers.dabs ... I'm working on fixing a lot of stuff .... Right now I'm changing the random string to the first three words of your description ... I'll change the font in the description too !! Thank you for your feedback !!! Right now I'm in the middle of make a photo editing page for terrive , will be adding a upload tool to it too!!

Cool! I kind of figured you were still developing it. I like where it is going even if it is still a little rough around the edges! Looking forward to seeing the upload tool and photo editing page as well.

Is it going to display the photos from posts that already exist on hive or is it only going to show what is uploaded on terrive?

Will there be an option to increase the upvote percentage? I upvoted @fireguardians post and it defaulted to 0.1% or something without the option to change it!

Is it going to display the photos from posts that already exist on hive or is it only going to show what is uploaded on terrive?

Working on adding a option to show all posts ... had it initially while i was making this but i had to remove it because it was a huge pain in the ass because each front end had their own way of posting 😁 ... will try again though !!

I have already added this to the test version i have ... will be pushing it to the dev website once soon ( will merge it main after i confirm it works in dev ) 🙂

Thanks for getting back to me with all this info! much appreciated! Like I said I'll be keeping an eye on this as it develops it will be interesting to bring people more used to traditional social media into Hive and that's a win in my book. Is there going to be a token for the platform or anything like that? Where should I be looking for more info as it develops?
