I have decided that every Thursday I'm going to try to curate #treasurefinds on Steem, as a way of celebrating those who post cool stuff under this tag. I'll also post any treasures I find or maybe something treasure related, just for a bit of interest and fun. Once I hit fifty entries under this tag, I'm going to award one with 50 Steem! But wait - there's more. I'm going to give away 2SBI each week to one entry!

What is a #treasurefinds post?

I outline what qualifies as a #treasurefinds post in my orginal post here. Basically, you can post anything you like - from charity shop finds to gemstones, old family photos hidden in attics to a plant pushing up from the concrete in the middle of a city, to an old book you've been searching for for years, to a collection of ammonites and feathers on a windowsill. As long as it's a 'find' and makes your heart jump for joy, it's in the running.

I'm going to shamelessly tag people that showed an interest on the original post, hoping they'll be reminded to create a #treasurefinds post. @porters wrote a really beautiful post where she shares LOADS of funghi pictures from her walk in the woods. She's a woman after my own heart, sharing the little details of her walk and finding delight in these tiny little mushrooms. There's sooo many mushrooms in her woods, I can't imagine there would be mush room for mush more!

@steemmatt, an UTTER inspiration for his wombling in order to find profit from other people's treasures. Like me, he gets pissed off at waste, yet does something about it, either taking it to a thrift shop or giving it away. He also makes a profit from many of the things he finds. Although he refuses to be part of the challenge, his #treasurefinds are awesome and inspirational and you should just follow him to remind yourself to keep an eye out for kerbside treasures! Check out his post here. I can't believe that people can throw away unsealed lego! What kind of world do we live in?

@owasco's post was decidedly more heartbreaking. She writes about the little scraps of memories found in her husband's possessions, including the wedding ring of her late husband. I felt her grief as she shared about this precious find. She wins the 2SBI this week as it's such a heartbreaking and heartfelt post.

Some of you might be interested in this Youtuber who 'mudlarks' in the Thames, finding all kinds of things to make art from, from old buttons and pipes to toys and jewellery. My husband is quite addicted to watching her, because there's some really interesting histories in her treasurefinds.
