East Coast Walking Day 2 Scarborough part2
Part 2 of walking in Scarborough. Today we walked down to the shore line via the Italian Garden which is very well hidden on the hillside within the woods. Its a beautiful place very calm and peaceful.
Directly in the middle is a ornamental fish pond full of water lilies, yellow iris and fish. With a statue of Eros in the centre.
Just when we were leaving i caught this little guy watching us leave so he could get back to foraging. Its quite a long walk to the beach as the hillside is so high and the path is very windy.
Walking from the south side to the north we usually stop of at a little cafe and today was no exception. Sat in the sun we saw an unusual sight.
Yes would you believe it a guy in a Sinclair C5. You don't see many of these today. I think it was some type of promo for a joke shop.. Quite apt i guess.
Next we did the long walk along Marine Drive which is a really nice walk next to the sea on one side and nesting seagulls high on the cliffs at the other.
When we got to Peasholm Park we noticed a new sculpture.
This is a sculpture of the bathing belle's. There is also an information board worth reading.
After viewing this sculpture we walked as far as possible past Scalby Mills pub and up over the cliffs. On the way back we called in Taylor's restaurant for dinner before walking back to Scarborough town centre.
Looks like a nice visit. Love all the green. Did you get a lot of steps on your @actifit app? Or do you tend to not use that one? Great to see you'rd out and about enjoying yourself @dune69
This was last week but i didn't have any wifi where we were staying and very little phone service. The Scarborough walk was the longest walk we did . I think i posted 29000 steps that day. It sounds a lot but that took all day with stops for lunch, drinks and ice creams :-)
Thanks for stopping by
Sounds like a wonderful time making memories 🍦
