East Coast Walking Day 1

Arrived at the holiday apartment early hoping to park up and get some walking in. But heavy rain put an end to those thoughts. So we drove through to Bridlington (East Coast Resort) for lunch.

As you can see the sky was black and the showers were heavy.

Walking to the harbour the place was pretty deserted even the beach looked untouched from the early morning raking it gets from the local council. Bridlington is a working harbour where they land the fish from the deep sea trawlers.

Down this side of the harbour are the local fishermen land all the lobster and crabs and people are constantly working on repairing their pots and creels. On the far side of the harbour is where the deep seas trawlers unload to the freezer trucks.

They also have a dry dock for boat repairs which is constantly busy most of the year.
We walked round the harbour and into town for lunch before walking back to the car and driving back to check in
