I recently visited mahabaleshwar with my friends, here are some info and photos from my visit to Mahabaleshwar.

The word Mahableshwar in Sanskrit means 'God of Great Power' (Lord Shiva). Originated from the word Mamleshwar which means 'God of Mavalas' who is Lord Shiva. Located in western ghats of maharashtra state, on the Panchgani plateau. Elevated at an average of 1,353 m (4,439 ft). It is around 260 km from Mumbai. There is no specific time to visit, Mahabaleshwar offers nature and tourism throughout the year.

Mahabaleshwar is one of few evergreen forests of india, which remains green throughout the whole year. Mahabaleshwar is famous for its Strawberry production, which contributes about 85% of total country's production.

Tourism of Mahabaleshwar is divided in various points or attractions spread throughout the region of mahabaleshwar.

Elphinstone point, Savitri point, Castle rock point, and Arthur seat point are adjacent points located not far from each other.

Elphinstone Point is located at a short distance from the Mahabaleshwar Main Market and is the first of several viewing points leading up to the Arthur Seat Point.one can see panoramic view of three great points - two great mountain ranges on the left and right with the pratapgarh fort in the front. From these points one can see mountain ranges till the horizon. The view is just spectacular.

Here are some pics clicked from these points.
