Yeongcheon Shinnyeong Cathedral

In early July, I went on a family trip after a long time. After playing in the water with the children in PyeongChang, I sent my wife and children on the train the next morning and went down to Gyeongsan, North Gyeongsang Province because I had work to do, when I found out that there was not much left of the electric car battery left, and I entered a cotton mill near the National Road.
There is an app that checks charging stations, but these days, the government office entered Shinnyeong-myeon office office without checking the belief that there are electric car chargers, but there was no charger in Shinnyeong-myeon office. I parked the car and looked around again, and fortunately I saw a sign of an electric vehicle charger on the street just next to the cotton office. When I walked to the village welfare center, I found a charger installed.

Just across the street, I saw a red brick building and a spacious yard, looking for a place to wait for me to pull in, put in a charger. It was a cathedral when I went in. Since there were no signs or names of buildings, I searched the cathedral in Shinnyeong-myeon on the Internet and found it to be Shinnyeong Cathedral. There was a statue of the Virgin Mary in the courtyard of a small brick building, and a generous bench, as if anyone who came in, should sit down and rest.

It is said that Shinnyeong Cathedral was established in 1922 and Gongso Auditorium in 1933. It is said that the construction of a new church on the site of the current church began in 1970 and was completed in 1971, and that the single-story white building next to the brick building seemed to be the old cathedral building. It was a red brick building, the current cathedral, which was said to have been built in 2001 due to the aging of the cathedral.

Although I am not a Catholic, I could feel at home when I saw a small cathedral building in a rural village. Yeongcheon Shinnyeong Cathedral, which I met at the site where I came in without notice, seems to be in my mind for a long time.
