Temples in Bangkok !!

Today i when for a peaceful walk to the Wat Pathum Wanaram Temple which is about 5 km from my place do you know when you get that feeling you just want to be left alone to regather yourself well today was one of them days i didn't want to be bothered by anyone i just needed some time to myself to meditate my thoughts and feelings.

It was a peaceful nature walk to the Temple through Lumpini Park from my place when i came out of the other end of the park it wasn't much further up along the main road entering the Temple i bought some incense and a candle i knelt down said some prays wishing close family and friends well been and moved on into the grounds of the Temple.

This Temple the Wat Pathum Wanaram was founded by King Rama IV as a place for worship. This temple was constructed very near his Sa Pathum Palace at the time and has remained here in honor of King Rama IV. This area use to be all rice fields in his time.

Now today the Temple stands between two of the biggest shopping malls in Bangkok the Central World Plaza and Siam Paragon Mall but it doesn't stop people from going their to enjoy the peaceful and quiet ambiance like i did it is never crowded like other temples you can actually really be at peace here and it was just what i wanted.

The temple between luxuries shopping malls. I was there inside the temple for the first time in my life. It was amazing with the garden of peace so calm and beautiful trees around the temple while the traffic and the hustle and bustle of the city life was just over the other side of the road.

It is said that in this temple lie the ashes of the Thai Royal family from the household of Prince Mahidol Adulyadej. The cemetery on the grounds of this temple struck me as been very spiritual , peaceful and loving and is why i felt so comfortable and at peace walking around in this cemetery house where they were all put to rest. The Buddha statue represents the tombstone.

This is actually the most beautiful-list temple cemetery i have seen in Thailand from the outside it just looks like a normal temple house till you walk inside you will see all these Buddha statue tombstones then you walk further into the center of this house cemetery and you will see the walls with little vaults with the deceased ashes in them and this huge spiritual Banyan Tree in the middle which all the spirits live in as the Thai's believe.

They have the crematorium on the grounds as well with a beautiful garden setting for those sad occasions.

What is impressive about this crematorium is that it displays the ancient craftsmanship known in Thai as Phra men. It represents Mount Meru, the dwelling place of Thai Gods.

I found this temple very attractive, beautiful and a peaceful place. You get a serene feeling and a inner peace. The sound of water falling in the waterfall in the garden too make your inner somewhat peaceful. It is located in a hustle and bustle place but inside it is very calm.

My day was made perfect by visiting such a peaceful place i walked out of there feeling like the weight had been taken of my shoulders it was just what i needed.

Thank you @tattoodjay for #wednesdaywalk challenge it's certainly giving me more of a boost to get out there and see the beautiful things around us.

Wat Pathum Wanaram Temple.
Address: 969 Rama I Rd, Khwaeng Pathum Wan, Khet Pathum Wan, Krung Thep Maha Nakhon 10330

Oh! Dear! You had too many days off and too many trips to the south of Thailand! Now you feel bad about it as most people are grinding away at their desks!!

Don’t take it too hard! You need another holiday, this time in the north among the mountains and old temples!
