Vologda. Zarechye

Zarechye (the area beyond the river) is the second half of the city of Vologda, which is located on the other side of the Vologda river from the north. The district combines several microdistricts, such as: Fryazinovo, Vodniki, Dyakonovo and Zarechye itself. That is, Zarechye is both a separate microdistrict, and the entire northern part of Vologda, located across the river.

This part of the city is slightly older than all other areas, with the exception of the center. There is also a lower number of storeys and many wooden houses.

The embankment of Zarechye part is very cozy with its own atmosphere.

It is nice to walk here and the center is visible.

In Zarechye I got my favorite places. A lot of them are on the banks of the Vologda River.

In general, this walk is only for informational purposes and relates more specifically to the embankment.

When I get to this part of Vologda, I will be happy to show all microdistricts and even neighborhoods with dilapidated housing and courtyards. Looking ahead, I’ll say right away that they are very different from other neighborhoods.

The Church of St. Andrew the First-Called is located near the bridge of the 800th anniversary of Vologda.

I like the massive dome in it. The best view for taking pictures from the shore where it stands. From the opposite shore, the view of the church is not very good due to the many willow bushes and wires of the power lines.

This is not the only church in the Zarechye, but this microdistrict is far from the center and its views rarely appear on the Internet.

I feel that Vologda has already become my (not a stranger). And when I explore the city completely, it will be my city!
