challenge - stay home, share 3 travel photos (day 1) philippines part 1
The furthest I’ve traveled in the past 6 weeks is around the block.
Thankfully,@psos has put forward a challenge to travel down memory lane. If you’re feeling blue, this challenge will shake you out of your funk, and remind you that you’ve lived a pretty decent life before the world locked down due to a pandemic.
Subic Bay, Zambales, Philippines
This was taken on a spring afternoon. My cousins and I sat down for a picnic after making a dragon out of sand on the beach with a bunch of new friends. I remember the warmth of the sun and a breeze that would’ve lulled me to sleep had my cousin not rented out a jet ski to zip around the water in. The water was perfect.

It felt like my family had the hotel to ourselves. After several days in denser busy cities, the austerity of a hotel on the water was a welcome break.
Baguio Cathedral
Every family visit to the Philippines always begins in Baguio. It’s a steep journey and very intense if there is rain. The city is at a high elevation and is cooler than many parts of the island. It usually takes a week for me to adjust to the heat. My uncle has a huge home in Baguio where everyone can easily be in one place. This cathedral has been part of family albums through the years.
I think I might have a photo of my parents taken at the cathedral pre-JNET times.
And here it is, a bonus photo of my mom and dad before I came into existence.
