El lunes 27 de Julio decidimos mi esposo y yo junto a nuestra bebé, conocer el Zoo de la Ciudad de Madrid.

Así que bajo 40° de calor veraniego nos fuimos en familia a conocer este lugar del que tanto nos habían hablado.

El acceso al lugar si vas en bus es un poco engorroso puesto que desde la estación del Metro más cercano que es Casa de Campo, hasta la entrada del parque hay que caminar un kilómetro por un sendero.

Pienso que para hacer un sitio tan concurrido por turistas deberían tener transporte desde el metro hasta el parque y viceversa.

Vamos no todo es malo no sirvió para hacer trekking.

Las entradas se pueden adquirir a través de la página web o en las taquillas del parque. Hacen geniales promociones por lo que a veces es mejor estar atento a las publicaciones de la página.

Pues bien, después de caminar nuestro kilómetro llegamos al parque, entramos y unas chicas te recibirán y pedirán que les muestres en el móvil las entradas, las escanean para verificar código y listo, podemos entrar!

Debido al estado de alarma tienen medidas de seguridad e higiene, hay puntos habilitados con geles y áreas como la de los gorilas que se encuentran inhabilitados.

También se recomienda no tocar las vayas y el uso obligatorio de mascarilla. En el suelo también se puede observar pegatinas para recordarnos mantener la distancia de 2 metros.

Durante la cuarentena nació una hermosa bebé elefante a la que pudimos ver muy apegada a su madre. Imponentes en cada paso que dan, verlos de frente es toda una experiencia.

On Monday July 27th my husband and I decided with our baby to visit the Madrid City Zoo.

So, under 40° of summer heat, we went with our family to know this place that they had told us so much about.

During the quarantine a beautiful baby elephant was born to which we could see very attached to its mother. Impressive in every step they take, seeing them face to face is quite an experience.

También hacen shows con animales acuáticos como leones marinos y delfines. Nos decidimos primero por conocer a unos simpáticos amiguitos que jamás había visto, los pingüinos.

Pensé que estos animales solo vivían en el frío pero ya veo que es posible para ellos vivir en un clima caluroso, siempre y cuando tengan donde mantenerse mojados.

They also do shows with aquatic animals such as sea lions and dolphins. We first decided to meet some nice little friends I had never seen before, the penguins.

I thought that these animals only lived in the cold but I see that it is possible for them to live in a hot climate, as long as they have a place to stay wet.

Debo confesar que la visita a este Zoo representó para mi el conocer muchas especies de animales que nunca antes había visto y si sumo a eso que fue la primera visita de mi bebé al Zoo, pues no sé quién de las dos estaba más emocionada pero sospecho que yo.🤭

Estos son llamados Pingüinos del Cabo y son la única especie que habita el continente africano, son rápidos al nadar y segregan un aceite por una glándula que tienen en la cola para mantener su plumaje hidratado. Son monógamos y llegan a tener de 1 a 2 crías.

Llevar agua

Ahora mismo que estamos en verano y con temperaturas por encima de 35°, mínimo llevar 3 litros de agua por persona.

Cambio de ropa

Tan necesario como el agua, cambiarnos de ropa nos hará sentir frescos y renovados para continuar la aventura.

Por último

Pero no menos importante, accesorios como gafas, gorros, abanicos, bloqueador solar y algún tentempié nos ayudará a estar en óptimas condiciones y a protegernos del sol.

Volviendo a la ruta, el primer show que vimos fue la de el león marino llamado "Elvis". Aquí nos enseñan un poco acerca de su alimentación, promedio de vida y algunos juegos que realiza con su amiga entrenadora.

Seguimos el rumbo ya que nos quedaba muchísimo por conocer pero es una parada obligatoria observar a los pavos reales sueltos por todo el parque.

Se pueden ver de cerca, pero respetando su espacio y sin hacerles daño. La belleza de sus plumas y colores es deslumbrante.

Mi bebé quería tomarlo de las plumas pero le enseñé que no se hace daño a ningún animal, los niños pequeños siempre querrán tocar a los animales.

We followed the course as we had a lot to do but it is a mandatory stop to see the peacocks loose all over the park.

They can be seen up close, but respecting their space and not hurting them. The beauty of their feathers and colors is dazzling.

My baby wanted to take it by the feathers but I taught him that no animal is harmed, little children will always want to touch the animals.

Bajo el sol inclemente seguimos nuestro recorrido pero antes de continuar nos pusimos unos shorts y retocamos a la bebé con el bloqueador solar, igualmente nosotros.

Así continuamos, y seguimos observando cada especie, la verdad es que no se cuantos animales hay en este Zoo pero se que son muchos y que si los nombro a todos el post no va a terminar como en 40 minutos, así que me enfocare en los más representativos del lugar.

Nos encontramos con estos adorables cerditos 🐷 , son pareja y hasta tienen un pequeño chiquero a modo de establo para ellos. A pesar de que comen cualquier cosa debemos evitar darle comida a los animales porque podrían enfermar.

We found these adorable little pigs 🐷 , they are a couple and they even have a small pigsty as a stable for them. Even though they eat anything, we must avoid giving food to the animals because they could get sick.

Apuramos un poco el paso porque ya casi era el show de los delfines, dura solo 10 minutos y podremos verlos haciendo piruetas a la par de aprender un poco más acerca de estos increíbles e inteligentes animales. Mi hija estaba muy emocionada cuando los vio saltar.

We hurried a little bit because it was almost the dolphin show, it lasts only 10 minutes and we can see them doing pirouettes while learning a little more about these incredible and intelligent animals. My daughter was very excited when she saw them jump.

Con mi sombrero de exploradora nos fuimos hasta el Aquarium a ver a los animales marinos, tambien son de mis favoritos pero no imagine que vería tan de cerca a majestuosos animales como el tiburón o las tortugas.

With my explorer hat we went to the Aquarium to see the marine animals, they are also my favorite but I did not imagine that I would see so close to majestic animals such as sharks or turtles.

También hay muchas otras especies como el pez payaso, morenas, pepinos de mar, caballitos de mar, medusas entre otros.

Para lo ultimo dejamos al mas visitado y así dimos chance de que no hubiese tantas personas, este es el Oso Panda, diría que son los consentidos del lugar puesto que representan el emblema del parque y la razón por la que muchos turistas se acercan hasta este ZOO.

Yo nunca había visto uno, puesto que no son característicos de la fauna de mi país, Venezuela, así que cuando vivía allá veía otro tipos de animales mas tropicales pero tambien muy hermosos. Debo confesar que me emocione mucho cuando los vi.

Efectivamente cuando llegamos no había nadie y así pudimos contemplarlo mejor y hacerles bonitas fotos, creo que llegamos justo a la hora de su almuerzo pero no nos invitaron. 😆

¿Sabias que su nombre significa "comedor de Bambu"?

For the last one we left the most visited and so we gave a chance that there were not so many people, this is the Panda Bear, I would say that they are the spoiled of the place since they represent the emblem of the park and the reason why many tourists come to this ZOO.

I had never seen one, since they are not characteristic of the fauna of my country, Venezuela, so when I lived there I saw other types of animals more tropical but also very beautiful. I must confess that I was very excited when I saw them.

In fact, when we arrived there was no one there and so we were able to contemplate them better and take nice pictures of them. I think we arrived just at lunchtime but we were not invited. 😆

Y así finaliza este hermoso recorrido por este ZOO de Madrid, donde puedo dar fe de que los animales están muy bien cuidados, tal vez muchas personas no entienden que este tipo de lugares se dedican a la preservación de las especies, muchas de las cuales están en peligro de extinción.

Parte de lo que recaudan de las entradas se destina a la conservación, investigación, alimentación y cuidado de todos estos animales.

Es un lugar maravilloso y muy recomendado para ir con la familia, recomiendo sobre todo visitarlo en las estaciones de primavera y otoño porque ahorita mismo que estamos en verano, muchos animales no salen de sus casitas por el el sol abrasador.

Aun a 40° fue un paseo increiblemente hermoso.
