On the 23rd July I had my birthday here in beautiful South Africa! (Despite what is going on here politically, the natural beauty is everlasting!). The day started with lots of lovely messages from friends and family who are in England (where I am from) and then I was up and showered ready for that morning cup of tea - I just HAVE to have one of those! Especially when sitting in the garden as it was a glorious day!

Cups finished with, we headed out on quite literally a 3 minute ride in the car round to the beautiful private beach. This is also the beach that we usually go for our walks on, and usually we walk right through all the way to the next town, which is roughly about 18km/20km. However we couldn't do that for my birthday this time around due to the lagoon breaking open to the sea! This is something that hasn't happened in 8 years (so I'm told), though this time it didn't happen quite as naturally as the last, and so what mother nature couldn't quite finish herself, the 'big boy toys' were bought in... Diggers! Haha ;)

Since I'm a believer in 'every picture tells a story' and sometimes does a better job than any amount of writing, I shall leave you with snaps from what was a beautiful day!

Ok, I think I'm done with the beach spam haha! After a lovely day we went for something to eat, I can say with confidence I had one hell of an appetite! I had a delicious chicken burger with bacon, cheese, chilli beans, mushrooms and onions that came with fries and onion rings (well 2 onion rings to be precise lol!) and a plate of chips to share! Oh, and to finish, being the chocoholic that I am.. I had a chocolate cake with a gooey chocolate center served with cream, because, well.. What's a birthday without cake! ;)
