Into The Forest

After having a small walk, we decided to check the other side of the place. Joyce hasn't seen the swimming pool yet, though she has been here quite a few times. So, I was like come on let's have some adventure to the "forest" side. She had no idea she'll regret it. xD

So as usual, she walked ahead of me cos I was busy taking pictures. The colors of the leaves in this shot have been changed, of course, but they looked pretty so I kept it that way. :3 Was supposed to be green. :p

Me having to keep up fast before the beast unleashes.

So this was the pool. Night swimming is allowed here and we definitely should try this sometime when everyone is not busy.

To the left from the pool, there's a path into the forest. It isn't maintained like the other areas but visitors are still allowed to walk around. I think they want you to have a magical experience walking here lol.

Yeah, she kinda didn't want to go further. She wasn't sure if it was still passable but I was like don't worry, it's fine... even though I haven't walked here for years. :p

DSC_1523.jpg

Isn't the place pretty? :p

DSC_1524.jpg

I didn't realize that the photo was blurry until now lol. She wanted to walk fast so...

Then there's this place where you could just sit down and read something if isolation is what you like. There's literally no one else in here, although some resort-people might pass occasionally to get something or just taking another route or whatever.

Look at all those plants hugging the railings. Pretty sight!

DSC_1557.jpg

Yeah, insects are pretty much alive here too. So we had to walk fast for that reason. Ain't me no getting malaria, baby.

There are parts where you could see some cliffs like this. You gon be injured pretty hard if you fall for sure. And maybe Japanese ghosts gonna haunt you while you there waiting for tasukete.

It was getting dark, so we rushed to the dining area. We stayed for a while and went downtown.

I do love the photo walk; it brings me there though I can't imagine how nice it was in person. If I could kindly critique you, I think your portraits could be stronger if you got closer to your subject! Of course, I understand she was entirely fond of your pace since you were taking photos, so you have your reasons. Haha, still, these are really nice shots by you.

Haha! Yeah true, she walks fast lol. But even if she was just standing there, I think I still won't have a strong portrait of other people because I don't usually shoot people. One of my insecurities is that I'm afraid they won't like my work. lol. Thanks for the critique! Of course, you are always welcome and I appreciate that a lot. I'll keep that in mind! :D

I love the vibe there! You're using Lightroom for post processing, right? I'm actually trying to recreate that kind of mood, but not quite there yet. Haha

Yep! I think the most important there is to learn the tone curve for the mood. And I use vignette too for extra drama haha. :D or if you want there are always free presets on the internet you can download those so you could practice

Since I do everything on my phone, when I drag the tonal curve, it would end up all over the place. I tried downloading presets before, but I ended up not using them.

Yeah, practice indeed. But I always felt that photography has a very steep learning curve. I'm actually anxious because one of my friends approached me to be the photographer of their merchandise and I don't even know the technicalities.
