Trapped in Desires

Not so long ago, I’m trapped in these worldly desires,
Desires that are born from the beginning with a different shape or form,
These desires take you to happiness but never to satisfaction,
It takes you to the tendency to crave even more but never to gratitude.

We are never convinced to be satisfied with what life has to give us,
It's like we’re longing for more, more of what we can do and more what we can give,
You can utter the words of gratification but never be fully fulfilled,
Still hungry for more, and praying for more than what is now.

Because as we continue to live day by day,
We’re still longing for what’s to come as we crave to live each and every day,
You’re still grounded in your present life, but still, have the memory of the past,
Now, in what sense does the future give you if you’re not yearning for more?
