Spider Coccoon

There was once a spidery contents here but a spider has now put them inside coccoons.... Like Shelob did with Frodo Baggins~ Or maybe like those fleshy things in Aliens before the chestburster bursts out of them~ Yep, like one of those things :D

Fun watching you put this together @veryspider! You are very good at it.

In real time, how long did it take you?

I noticed that as well and thought it was really cool. In some analysis I was doing recently I took a look at reward for comments vs. top level posts and comments are only ~ 6% and top level ~ 94% of author reward. I think good comments and good commenters are so important to author retention and just in general making this platform not feel so... crappy... for lack of a better word LOL.

Oh I almost forgot to say - love butterfly lady she is definitely spreading good vibes. I am also liking the ink-washy backgrounds you have been using. Keep on drawing and growing spoder you are the best spider around these webs.

Oh hey! It's happening again! I think they ARE actively curating for engagements off 3speak posts!!! WOW! This is amazing XD I love it :D :D :D Rewarding people taking interests in other Steemians' blogs is really a cool idea, and I think they are manually curating the comments, as well, since I saw the ones that were one liners didn't get upvoted from the last post :D???

Thanks as always, for your kind words, Carl <3

Im only a smol spoder doing what a smol spoder can~ :D

Absolutely @carlgnash ...

"I think good comments and good commenters are so important to author retention and just in general making this platform not feel so... crappy..."

... correct, at least to this Steemian. It is unfortunate that this does not seem to be the uhhh ... "majority opinion." But ... We do what we can. Right?

absolutely. I have mulled over starting a comment curation guild in the past, similar to the various curation guilds that curate and upvote good content, but focusing on good comments. I am already spread too thin with my time on Steem as it is but I still think it is a good idea.

Yes understood @carlgnash ...

"I am already spread too thin with my time on Steem as it is ..."

... but glad to know we are like-minded. On this ... 😉

That said, I wonder what impact all of the changes in HF21 are going to have on commenting? Perhaps more specifically, on upvoting good comments (as well as on posts)?

well unfortunately I think it will be a chilling effect on upvoting comments. I think a lot of the more engaged and active commenters/ comment upvoters are in the large minnow / small dolphin range and unfortunately the change in reward curve will mean that a lot of people who can currently just barely upvote a comment above the dust threshold, will no longer be able to do so :(

Yes @carlgnash ...

"... I think it will be a chilling effect on upvoting comments."

... that is what has concerned me. I am less active now with other time commitments, but am still doing what I can. The proposed changes in HF21 concern me, but ... I don't delude myself to think my opinion matters ...

Not sure what I will do, if these changes make matters worse ...

The bright side is that another hard fork is planned for (hopefully) the not-too-distant future (SMT hardfork). When the predictable happens and HF21 economic changes lead to even more use of bid bots, even more delegation to bid bots, and the rich growing even richer, at least the changes can be rolled back in relatively short order. So many people are so sick of how Steem is that they seem to think any change is a good change - I don't think there is any way at this point to prevent HF21 EIP from happening, but at least if it is as disastrous as I expect we won't have to wait forever for the next hardfork to change it.

Well, again @carlgnash ...

"... I don't think there is any way at this point to prevent HF21 EIP from happening, but at least if it is as disastrous as I expect ..."

... we are in some agreement. I am not impressed with what I have read about it (and I've read many posts ...), most particularly the downvote feature. I can hardly wait for the creation of the almost inevitable posse comitatus groups "riding roughshod" over the Steem blockchain "doing good" ... At least in their eyes ... 👎

And right behind these? Bots to "automate" the "doing good" ... 👎👎

I realized that 3speaks few hours ago and I was wondering what was actually the cause. Now I know.

This is a great piece. Looks like the wind is blowing her hair foward and her gown backward while she's trying to allow the butterfly perch gently on her hands

Hahah yes, I was like what is this upvotes notices, then I saw, and now I know, too :D AND YAY, it is happening again! They are rewarding meaningful comments left on this post too !!! AMAZING :D :D :D

Thanks very much for your kind feedback, Max !

Ahh it's always fun watching stuff magically happening when you're drawing XD

I thought 3Speak had embedded properly but sadly it had not. Didn't stop me though (just gallivanted on over to the site, allowed a hundred million scripts that were allegedly imperative to basic operations and we were sweet). Yay for good vibey butterflies! I love swirls and swooshy hair and inksplash backgrounds.

And I never have problems with unexpected spodey updates, as long as they're easy to do :)

Stuff magically happening is how I draw, though most of the time stuff NOT magically happening is more accurate description XD

I think there are windows where the comments are curated by 3speak, so I hope they will fly around again cuz seems like there's valuable replies that have not been appreciated... Hmmm, it will be interesting for me to upload at different timezone just to check stuff,..... hmmmmmmmmm

And thank you fyn, you are always so nice to me aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa <3

Is there a scheduling thing for you to make use of to play around with that? As that would be a much more sensible method than mine (which is usually staying up late to finish something XD).

That is a really beautiful drawing, and it's always so amazing to see the process. Thank you so much for sharing.

I hadn't even heard about 3speak until now, would that be a good place to host some of my videos?

Yep, 3speak is a video hosting place, but they are not free. You gotta pay around 23 steems of subscription fee per month in order to be able to upload video contents. They also charge 10% off your payout, BUT the upside is that your contents will create a space for engagements since they upvote comments made on 3speak posts !

Thank you for comments and visits <3 I'm glad you like the drawing~

Wow what a workflow and all from the head and no sketching. My workflow is full of undos getting the right line or to see if it is the way to go.

Guess I have to check that 3speak. So many platforms to choose from. :)

You are magician yourself! I love your videos, and I imagine the process in a slow motion... <3 @->--

And this time it make me wonder, you should be very good in putting on make up. Are you?

P. S. I came back to write that this last summer month make us lazy with blogging, and recalled about your winter. Shit. Now you look forward to a most wonderful season - spring, while we counting down last summer days... (not sure what smile I should place here, so...)

I was given a very nice upvote last time and I am so late to the party, I don't expect anything, but, still, I was rewarded with a most beautiful post, butterflies taking flight, dancing their way through the scene.

Another very lovely moment that you have immortalized. So beautifully.

Alas, you did it again.

Hmm, yeah, it seems that it only picks up comments within some hours after a post is dropped, so that's something that can be improved, I think cuz not everyone's always online when a 3speak post drops, so they should do at least 24 hours' window, i think.... cuz lots of meaningful comments might go unrewarded otherwise.... hmmm

You are, as always, incredibly sweet and thoughtful <3 Thank you very much !

Very pretty drawing. Seems so easy in the video, but it's acutally hard to draw humans, especially hands. Your quite good at it! Well done!

You're so talented .. what program do you use to draw? Also how does D.Tube compare to 3Speak?

Hmm I'm still discovering more and more about 3Speak, so far, here's what I have found:

  • Good stuff: They give upvotes just like Dtube, etc. + They give upvotes to the comments made in your 3Speak posts as well, rewarding your readership base! Also I used to have issues with uploading to Dtube, but none with 3Speak...
  • On the other hand: They charge $3 US dollar monthly fees, they take 10% off your payouts, they automatically pays your posts through the likwid thingy, and last time I uploaded it took more than 24 hours to encode my video......

But, still discovering as I go along... Verdict at this stage remains undecided!

And also, thank you :D !!!

Hey a spider didn't erased a thing again it seems. Does a spider have been feeling butterflies lately? The girl seems to care a lot for that butterfly in her super well and in-one-shot drawn hands. And other butterflies fly around her cuz perhaps she makes them feel trust and warmth... and magic! Or something in the likes. Love the sketchy and flowy nature of these krita pieces. Is it krita btw?

Hey, this one came out after like.... so many failures, so the other ones I didn't show cuz I was being terrible at the drawing thingo but I hide them and publishes the one that I look as if I know what I'm doing flawlessly DO HOHOHOHOHOHOHO~

It's going to be Spring here soon, so I think I've been feeling butterfly-ey XD

Thank you so much amazeeng zeen!

Nothing better than rewarding engangement (not the "hey I follow you, follow me" one), since it's the base to make things grow!
I love the lightness you gave to the drawing, you can feel it!

Yeah i like the idea that 3Speak is rewarding engagement and readership, but there's things going on with 3speak that i'm just finding out too, and it's not all rainbows~
