Bangkok: The ASIATIQUE Market

In the midst of SteemFest, my family and I decided to visit a place called ASIATIQUE.

This river side night market is essentially an outdoor mall with the elements of a traditional Thailand market and bits of carnival tossed in for good measure. It's very large. You can find yourself walking and walking, exploring much of what you might find at a normal shopping mall--but with the festive charm and character of an outside marketplace.

ASIATIQUE is ideal for those looking for a casual, fun Thailand shopping experience that is clean, organized, has nice restrooms, and provides a solid mix of fine dining and street food.

@koolitime and his brother decided to ride a scary Haunted House type ride. About halfway through the video, he shares his experiences. He's a big fan of games like Five Nights at Freddy's, so I think he really enjoyed all the jump scares. His older brother, on the other hand, seemed somewhat traumatized by the little side adventure, haha.

After plenty of walking, we decided to sit down and eat at a place there called Checkmate. It's a cool restaurant with a chess game theme. There was a live band, and the food was delicious. I had the red curry.

Afterwards, one of the kids picked up a souvenir as we continued to explore all the cool merchandise. Eventually, we happened upon a festival driven section that was composed of mostly food stands. Despite the fact that we had already eaten, it all looked sooooooo good!

We had to get more!

Among the normal delicious fare, there were also treats for the adventurous eater. Stuff like alligator meat and scorpions! We ended up grabbing some skewers of grilled chicken and pork. @koolitime bought some very delicious juice. I don't know why, but it seems like all the juice tastes better in Thailand! Maybe because it's all made fresh?

There are some upcoming videos I plan to share, where we explore a more traditional Bangkok street market and also our visit to Bangkok's newly-developed super mall. Each place had its own distinct vibe and price range. ASIATIQUE fits right in the middle. It really is the perfect blend of mall and marketplace.

So if you don't have enough time to explore all the shopping experiences that Bangkok has to offer, I recommend ASIATIQUE as the place to go. In one visit, you'll get a nice blend of everything, and it's lots of fun!

Stay tuned for more Thailand adventures!

Great video! I brought a stabilizer for my phone so I could make vlogs while I was there in Thailand, but I only brought it out once. Watching your videos makes me wish that I would have made more attempts at vlogging, but it was too much of a hassle for me to juggle my big camera and try and film.

That haunted house looked pretty cool and !DERANGED
