Cleric Sells Meth to Students, Saying 'It'll Help Study Quran' šŸ˜µ

ā–¶ļø Watch on 3Speak

A cleric has been arrested for selling meth to his students, claiming it would ā€œhelp them
study and recite the Quran betterā€. According to The Star, the religious leader from Madura,
Northeast Java in Indonesia had been selling the drug to his students at an Islamic boarding school and reasoned that it was permissible under Islamic law. Being an avid drug user himself, Ahmad Marzuki managed to avoid the police for two months after they learned of his actions. Despite being a fugitive, the religious leader still taught at other Islamic boarding schools in Surabaya and Mojokerto cities.

Maybe he should have given it to them if it is so good for them ;) Any drug dealer needs to be punished, especially if selling to kids. I won't get into the arguments about the legality of drugs, but if they screw you up then something is wrong.

Wait... what? This is insane. What does the Quran say about taking advantage of a childā€™s ignorance I wonder.

Itā€™s amazing what a person can justify as being in line with their chosen religion if they try hard enough.

I hope this chap gets a little extra punishment while in prison. What a disgusting example of a person he is.

That's a new one. I'm sure they'll find a way to attribute his actions the corruptive west.
Drugs have been said to enhance any artist's skills or perception, to sharpen the senses. It makes sense to believe that if used for religious purposes they will make you more religious, more devoted, maybe?
It will be interesting to see how religious authorities handle this and whether this is part of a bigger problem in other Muslim communities.

The drug only leads to addiction and death. I wonder how these corrupt creatures find room for expression. Where is the family and the state?
