Steem Contrasts, and a Little Personal Invitation
A couple of days ago, I created my first ever head & shoulders talking video on @3speak in response to the steem promo challenge set by @theycallmedan. I've been more than a little surprised at the response. Last time I looked it was heading to $55. Wow! But I noticed something last night that made me sad.
I had also in the last days resteemed and upvoted an #introduceyourself post for @kbv.animalwelf I had seen it in my feed initially resteemed by @gooddream and when I read the comments, I saw that he'd also delegated them 50 steem to help them overcome RC issues. I decided to follow his lead.
Sadly, 2-3 days later while my (frankly rather awful) video made the trending list and racked up a healthy return, this new steemian - a courageous local organization out there doing it hasn't creaked $1 on their introductory post. I see it sitting there every time I glance to count my growing steem millions and it doesn't feel right.

They sound like wise & passionate steemians too 🤣 Seriously, we HAVE a lot of ability to make steem glow & grow with who we already have. Make all the current people more connected & abundant & THEY will be the best recruiters. Thanks for swinging by. 😊
i had suggested allowing RC delegation with some steem devs ages ago.. some of us have more than we can ever use.. but we cant delegate without it being tied to Steem! How cool woudl it be to just send some RC to people we like to they can comment and post more..

A superb solution!! Enable us to transfer or delegate RC separate from steem. I currently have 8,894,834,818,328 RC 🤣🤣🤣 Want some? It's probably enough to launch a family of 5 to outer space. 😉
It's often hit and miss, reaching out to newcomers. I still try to do it, but probably not as much as I used to. If you can get them into a community, then I think they often do much better. So many just fizzle out despite the support, however. Having said that, for those who stay it's that early support that made the difference.
I notice the animal welfare one hasn't replied to comments yet. Possibly because they had low RC, but I hope they do interact, because it makes all the difference. The current environment on Steem is probably one of the best to be starting in, because people are sending things to the curators. I've dropped the intro post in the curangel queue, so that should boost it a little more.
Appreciated tbe @curangel gesture. It's a no brainer to me. If they fizzle, that's ok. It's not necessarily terminal. I have several 'fizzled' friends planning to start agaun having watched me. My daughter too... she's planning a comeback but needing me to get her a laptop... steeming on a cellphone is hard work! There are many reasons for fizzle... Me? Im gonna keep being that person.

What a beautifully articulated, heart-filled post. Your voice radiates so much kindness and gentleness. I can attest to the difference support of a community has made for me. There have been a lot of initiatives like this. @whatsup used to do an adopt-a-minnow initiative where she helped steemians reach 400SP quickly. I think a lot of the helping newbies slowed down because genral influx of newbies slowed down. Everyones attention is divided pretty thin, even more so for those of us in the cities, so it's hard to help everyone. At some points there will be far too many newbies to help all of them, but I do think that adopt-a-minnow idea is great, maybe we can revive it
