Turkeyzilla came to dinner yesterday, to be remembered and digested.

My niece raised a broad-breasted white turkey on her homestead for Thanksgiving dinner. Turkeyzilla was the result, at twice the size of store bought turkeys, weighing 42 pounds!

Here is the result:

The "hat" was an oval pan: 12 inches in the short direction, and 15 in the long direction; made to cook turkeys!

She had to borrow a resteraunt sized roasting pan to be able to cook this bird:

This pan barely fit in the oven. She obviously had to roast it overnight to get it cooked!

But the results were delicious:

She has 5 kids, and had family over for Thanksgiving (sadly I had to work).

Her oldest boy Alex is 12:

Alex is as big as his Mother already, so this will give you a guage of how big turkeyzilla was!

They raised him with the chickens, on chicken feed. He thought he was just a large chicken....

Yes, my niece is a sweetheart, and brought me a tray full of turkeyzilla:

This is when I was full! Good times, good food....

I hope you had a good Thanksgiving with friends and family!

I've heard of that. I'm glad you liked the mix. This was so much meat, adding a duck would be overkill, LOL 😆

This turkeyzilla was tasty. She thinks they will be eating it until Christmas! Good times, good food, good company....
