The Government of India recently outright banned a bunch of Chinese Apps to be used in India and amopng the list of Banned Apps was one app that I used quite a lot for official reasons. No I am not talking about TIKTOK but I used to use CamScanner a lot. But now that these Apps are Banned in India we are desperate to search for decent alternatives to these Apps amd I am definitely one of them.

Before I start talking about the alternatives I need to elaborate what CamScanner does. Basically CamScanner is an App to Scan Documents and present them in any form you wanted. This is of huge help for on the go guys like me who doesn't have time for taking Notes. I just take a Snap and it's done. But today I will talk about some alternatives to CamScanner.

This is obviously an app developed by Adobe and comes with loads of preloaded features. One of the most interesting feature that I saw was the Erase option which basically means after you have the snapshot of your document you can basically erase anything you want.

Once again the name says it all. It is developed by Microsoft and to be honest it is pretty basic. This will get the job done for sure but it does not have a whole lot of customizing options.

Photoscan is developed by Google and is a decent App for scanning Documents as well as Pictures. It uses a mechanism called four corners where you have to hover the camera lens at four corners to get more accurate image of the Document.

Of all the above this app might be the closest one to CamScanner but at the same time the farthest as well. This app has a whole lot of features like Edge Detection, Multiple Scanning, Sharpening and many more features which is pretty awesome but all of it is on Auto so you can't control it which is a Bummer for me.

My Conclusion

I did try all of the above apps and I have to say that I really like the Turbo Scan App but not having manual control sucks for me so I will be using Adobe Scan for all my upcoming Work Scans. But that is my preference so I would really suggest you to try these Apps and decide for yourself which one suits you best as all f these apps are free to use.
