Covid 19 new cases have been dropping in Malaysia and the active cases in treatment now is around 200 plus. The government have been really strict.

I am writing this to have a capsule locked in for myself when I look back at 2020 sometime in the future.

The type of offenses that could land anyone here in Malaysia in Jail or a fine or both includes the following.

  1. Not wearing a mask is around USD 250 or a jail time of about a couple of months depending on the judge

  2. Not writing your full name and contact number gets you USD 250 when you enter any premises and get caught

  3. Not practicing social distancing especially at eateries lands each person a fine of 250 USD

  4. Caught for not following the rules of quarantine and causing clusters to occur - a jail of two years and around 4k usd. Recent case ruling for an owner of a restaurant.

In another seperate case, One grandmother who was suppose to be quarantined at home but went out to eat at a restaurant somewhere and was reported by police had to pay a fine of around USD 1.5K.

At the moment, everyone is wearing a mask unless we head to parks to exercise or go hiking. I guess, it's good in a way for the government to make it a point that they are pretty serious about the situation as it cost tax payers loads just to enforce any lockdown or increase Healthcare facilities. As the saying goes 'Prevention is the key to fighting this pandemic'

The picture that you have seen if you saw that is the history of the places that I've been to which is found in an app made by the government and everyone has to use it to scan the QR codes of locations before entering any premise for rapid contact tracing in case any breakouts occur at a future time.

Stay safe and let's all fight this pandemic and go traveling again. Have a great Sunday.
