Food Sharing #150 - 下町のパン工房 @ Kinshicho, Japan

Hi Everyone,

Every time I go to Japan, I love to buy lots of bread. There is something about Japanese bread I love so it is like a must-visit when I arrive. This time I found a nice bakery called 下町のパン工房 near Kinshicho JR in the 0101 building. I was actually still getting used to the cold weather coming from Bangkok so I needed some food and a cup of tea to keep my self alert. It was a great decision to come to this bakery rather than a franchise coffee shop for a rest.

Let’s check the menu. The menu was very simple with a small variety of rolls and a nice choice to drinks. You could also get some prepackaged sandwiches and bread which could be taken home. I bought their pork katsu roll and a black tea with no milk. The water is boiled in a special kettle which is supposedly their way of making tea and coffee.

After a few minutes wait, the food and drink was ready. The bread roll smell so nice and fresh with the warm meat in the middle. I quickly at it up as the bread just keeps luring me taking the next bite. The roll was not too big so it was a nice snack to keep me going. The cup of tea was normal, nothing too special but much needed for my break. It was around 700 yen for the meal which was considered expensive compared to Sydney. The exchange rate from AUD to YEN wasn’t that great this time so everything seemed a lot more expensive. I walked past the bakery another time was too full to buy bread so next time if I do visit this area again, I will come by to try something else.
