Trattoria Zi Mingo
Hello friends,
The "Trattoria Zi Mingo" is a small trattoria in Potenza.
The menu consists of many homemade dishes from Basilicata.
The night I was in this restaurant I was not very hungry and for this reason I ordered a bruschetta with lard from Colonnata as an appetizer.

The bruschetta was really tasty.

After the bruschetta I ate a mixed roast of meat: lamb, chicken breast, sausage, pork slice.

I like cooked mixed meat roast, even if it's not really a healthy choice.

My opinion:
Prices are low compared to other similar restaurants. The staff is friendly and the service is quite fast.
A restaurant that I will certainly visit again.

Ovviamente scherzo...è lardo di suino, prodotto tipico di un paesino, Colonnata appunto, che si trova in provincia di Carrara.
Viene stagionato nei marmi di Carrara con un procedimento particolare.
Il gusto è particolare e non piace proprio a tutti, ad esempio a mia moglie non piace proprio, a me, invece piace molto :)

On the toast there is the lard of Colonnata. It is a particular salami that is prepared in a small village in the Alps in Italy. The village is called Colonnata.
It is pork lard that is placed in marble basins on which garlic has been rubbed. Then the lard is salted with many aromas: nutmeg, cardamom, sage, rosemary, pepper, cinnamon, cloves, cumin. The marble basins are covered. Finally it is left to mature for about ten months.
The result is a very special food.
