Cooking and dining: The spot to get to know each other

One of the things in restaurants that often goes wrong, is that you sit down and never change the seating anymore. Sometimes occasions call for a different type of setting. Think about a diner where colleagues have to get to know each other, or a different form of a blind date.

Because in Cooking and Dining Eindhoven, you have to make your food yourself in a professional kitchen. And that is a lot of fun!

What is usually the problem with cooking at home? Getting the inspiration and getting the ingredients. And if you are like me, a lack of cooking skills might also be an extra challenge in these kinds of occasions. And that is where the chef of Cooking and Dining is your best friend. All of the ingredients are already bought, but still in their raw form. Don't know how to professionally dice your food? This dude helps your and teaches you how to do it!

And the cool thing is, it is interactive. So you are all in the same kitchen preparing a different dish, but working together makes it all a lot easier. Sounds perfect to me to get to know the people you are in the kitchen with. There is enough working room in the kitchen and plenty of time to talk in between. Chef Otto has a good sense of what the vibe is and where he has to step in, or just let it be for a little while.

Another good example of the details that I would never be able to make at home. Rice sheets fried and then covered with Tarragon herbs. But with a little help and some good supervising, easy as something. This was surely good for the cooking confidence. And the best thing: you are allowed to take the recipes with details home with you! So next Christmas when you have to present something for the in-laws, you will be the mystery card of cool cooking skills.

And there it is!

The result of the appetizer cooking. Eel sashimi with Tarragon-Parsley dressing. Cover with potato salad, with a cream sauce of sour cream, home made mayonaise, chopped onion and chives. With on top the rice sheets with Tarragon flavor and a little dip of homemade mayo on the side. Yummie!

Next up: Main course

A perfectly seared steak with red beat and red wine with red port sauce, placed on a bed of celeriac with smoked salt. Homemade potato fries made from scratch on the side and some salade for the optics. Are you hungry yet?


I didn't manage to snap my desert because it was so much fun, and that says it all. It is cooking and bonding with each other, and then afterwards having the time to have a super decent meal, which has all the love in there that you yourself gave it, but with the quality check from the professional ones.
