The other BeerSaturday

You know this situations. There are this nice few Leffe beer waiting in the cold for joining you in a nice glass.

But then, your beloved comes around with another action point for that day. Means there is this 1.2kg shoulder from a lamb lying around in the fridge and this should be nicely done by the evening - for having some guests.

Combining this two thing might be a cool idea and so, I said to myself:

Give this lamp a beery swim for just a few hours!

read the results in this post and please let me know your thoughts

You don't have to drink
all the BEER today
give the lamp

The parts

After shopping at our local turk butcher, there was this nice part of lamb sleeping at our fridge. Seems to be perfect for dinner on a saturday evening. I would love to slow cook this on the BBQ but today it was to cold outside and I was to lazy to setup all that.

You need

For this recipe you just need some simple ingredients and here is the list.

1.2 kg lamp
3 bottle Leffe blond (1 for the cook)
4 onions
8 medium potato
1 red pepper
1 green pepper
2 tomatos
3 little garlic
Salt, pepper, herbs

How to start

You might put the lamb into to pan right away, but I prefer to give it an extra hour with some herbs and some olive oil. Therefore I add all this into a plastic bag, detract all the air and give it a rest for an hour.

You know that all this cooking is arouse such a thirst.

Therefore we added another Leffe to the recipe as this one is for the cook

So, that already opened Leffe blond suddenly lost a lot of it liquid content to the cook.

The lamb

After getting some heat to the lamb, the herbs get a bit burned but the aroma is set.

The other ingredients

Adding all the other ingredients after cutting they in big pieces. See the onions already in the pot while I was sipping at the leftover Leffe and cutting all the potato, pepper, tomato and garlic.

image.png

Whenever you have done all this cutting, the pot need some liquid.

And than the painful part starts,

as you have to open the other 2 Leffe blond and pour them into to pot with all the food - having tears in my eyes.

Now cooking

All the stuff has to cook on a low low low temperature for at least 3 to 5 hours.

It depends on the thickness of the lamb, as you like to have all cooked well.

As all was fine, I had the fun to serve the family all this food and they where really happy.

All was so well cooked, that I could remove the bone very easy from the lamb.

Final result: Happy family, happy cook, happy evening.

Also die Geschmacksexplosion :-)

Sounds tasty! I have used beer in meat recipes several times and it turns out great.
