Bali Food Guide - #42 Cappadocia, Canggu
A turkish restaurant nearly 10.000km away from turkey here on Bali. Yes, it´s true and here in Canggu it is the first one so far. We were craving for turkish food since quite a while, so we went there yesterday for dinner.
Ein türkisches Restaurant hier auf Bali, fast 10.000 km von der Türkei entfernt. Ja, es ist wahr und hier in Canggu ist es das erste bisher. Wir haben uns seit einiger Zeit nach türkischem Essen gesehnt und sind gestern zum Abendessen dorthin gefahren.
It has just opened a few days ago so everything in there looks pretty new. I was expecting bit more of a turkish touch inside the restaurant but at least everything was new and clean.
Es wurde erst vor ein paar Tagen eröffnet, sodass alles dort ziemlich neu aussieht. Ich hatte etwas mehr türkisches Flair im Restaurant erwartet, aber zumindest war alles neu und sauber.
The menu looked very promising and had all the turkish treats on it. We were both looking forward to this since we love turkish food. But we knew it will be hard for them to satisfy us since we have one of the best Kebab shops in Stuttgart, where we come from.
Die Speisekarte sah sehr vielversprechend aus und hatte alle türkischen Leckereien. Wir haben uns beide darauf gefreut, da wir türkisches Essen lieben. Aber wir wussten, dass es für sie schwierig sein wird, uns zufrieden zu stellen, da wir einen der besten Kebab-Läden in Stuttgart haben, von wo wir kommen.
We ordered the following
- 1 x stuffed cabbage as a starter
- 1 x Pide with minced beef
- 1 x Urfa Kebab
The stuffed cabbage had a bit to less herbs and spices but was good apart from that. The Pide was good and I would have it again anytime. Unfortunately The Urfa Kebab was a bit disappointing, the rice was cold, the fries were cold, the taste of the meat was alright but wasn´t really seasoned and not grilled long enough.
All in all it was not more than ok and the Kebab wasn´t as good as it looked like on the menu.
Maybe it wasn´t their day. It´s worth a try but don´t expect too much.
Wir haben folgendes bestellt
- 1 x Kohlroulade als Vorspeise
- 1 x Pide mit Rinderhackfleisch
- 1 x Urfa-Kebab
Der gefüllte Kohl hatte ein bisschen wenige Kräuter und Gewürze, aber ansonsten war er gut. Die Pide war gut und ich würde sie jederzeit wieder bestellen. Leider war der Urfa Kebab etwas enttäuschend, der Reis war kalt, die Pommes waren kalt, der Geschmack des Fleisches war in Ordnung, aber nicht wirklich gewürzt und nicht lange genug gegrillt.
Alles in allem war es nicht mehr als in Ordnung und der Kebab war nicht so gut wie er auf der Speisekarte aussah.
Vielleicht war es nicht ihr Tag. Es ist einen Versuch wert, aber erwarte nicht zu viel.
