I'm taking you along with me as I create a new card deck for myself. I will create it with an American Indian theme as I did once before. What is Lenormand? - check out my previous article.

Card 34 Fish

It was nice to do a card where there wasn't any major changes to the name of the card in order to achieve the correct meaning. Fish are fairly universal in their meaning. People eat fish for sustenance and people catch fish for pleasure and profit. It's a fairly uncomplicated symbol.

When we think of the fish, we tend to think of:

  • finances, profits, increase in money
  • freedom, drifting, leisure
  • abundance, plenty, harmony
  • caution to be cautious and careful to not squander your wealth
  • rainy day feeling and planning
  • deep love may be beckoning you into a harmonious and faithful relationship

For my new card, For my new card, I hit Google Images search, looking for something with CC0 (Creative Commons 0) licensing meaning that I don't always have to remember to credit someone - essential if I were to start doing paid readings with these cards.

I also had to find out which traditional playing card is associated with this card. So, here is my result:

I took a beautiful old picture of a spear fisherman who seems to be pondering life (maybe that girl...) and blended it with a picture of fish (I think they were in Indonesia or somewhere in that part of the world.) Ideally, I wanted to find some salmon for this river, but good (and free) pictures of salmon swimming like this were almost impossible to find.

To make this, I duplicated the fishing image and sandwiched the fish in between. Then, at 50% opacity, I erased the top layer of the fishing until I could just see them through the water.

I really like the result.
