#SublimeSunday - Weathered Warriors

flower.jpg

In this part of the world, where the winter is longer and harsher than some places, late autumn is a season of preparation and transition. This Sublime Sunday gives me pause to enjoy the annual resilience of nature and community clinging to the fleeting warm weather.

The sidewalks seem a little more spacious. Many of the blooms have withered and cast their seeds. Though some green persists.

The oaks defiantly refuse to lay down their leaves. The bare trees revel in their sacrifice and stand tall to welcome the snow to fall soon.

Beautiful seasoned moms show some wear from the frost and cool winds, but are equally as elegant as at the height of summer. The bees have long since retreated but the sun still shines but fewer hours on these golden petals.

A company of sentries proudly display the discolouration from the long battle. There is still fight left in these troops who are not about to concede the end of the seasonal war.

I really do love the late fall blooms. It amazes me how little I paused to appreciate and share them before this blockchain happened. It may be grey for a while though the colour of the season will enhance as I wait for the white blanket to cover the land and finish off these stalwart blooms for another winter.

I hope your Sunday was as vibrant and sublime.

We are now having cold dark gloomy winter but I saw the fall here with so many colors. Not only I agree with you at the point of the gorgeousness of fall but also I also agree with your thoughts too. Our last sunflower is already dead and nature here went for a long sleep for 3 more months...

I take solace in seeing the hundreds of seeds in a fallen sunflower and picturing many more growing next year.

Gracias! I love the purple one too. Planted it just this year and hope it pops up again next spring.

If there are flowers where I am and many. In my tropical country Venezuela, you can enjoy these natural benefits. It's just a good thing here.

Beautiful your photos the ones you show. Loving nature is a privilege. I congratulate you!
