welcome to another #sublimesunday post and my first #sublimesunday post of 2020.

so its been a very busy week this week visiting family and having fun on new years.

so on Monday i decided that i wanted to purchase a cheap computer i didn't expect to find anything good for my budget however i did stumble across a somewhat decent beginner PC that contained 500GB storage, 8GB ram, I5 processor and some more neat little things. so on monday i purchased the PC.

Later on in the day of Monday me and the family went out to visit relatives and spent most of the day spending time at other relatives places. After leaving our relatives we headed home and to get home its a walk through the city centre. During the walk we stopped at a local fish and chip shop which personally i consider to be the best chip shop in the city and its clear many people in town think so too as its always busy and queues are always long, it's always busy whenever they are open.

We eventually got home just after 6pm where i had a little rest watching a couple episodes of the old TV show everybody loves Raymond info before grabbing more food to eat and doing some light cleaning before again relaxing for the rest of the evening.

TUESDAY new years eve!

i woke up quite late in the day at around 10:30 and began the day tidying up my room ready for my computer however that was soon cut short as some more relatives came to visit. a couple hours pass before they leave and by the time they did i no longer wanted to clean my room instead i opted to do a grocery shop instead.

so we set off to the local supermarket too do a very light shop as all we purchased was some chicken, hot curry pastes, cakes, crisps, and some little snacks. ye i am a huge curry lover it is my favourite food i love hot ones like Madras, Jalfrezi and more.

after returning home we put all the shopping where it needed to go and then set about our plans for the evening we didn't wanna stay out super late as some of us had work the following day however we did all end going to a couple bars and stayed their till 11pm we had quite alot to drink me drinking both Guinness and Carlsberg as because we went into a few different pubs each pub was different in what drinks they sold. On the way back towards home it was a short 15 minute walk home but we all felt hungry so whilst walking home we decided to order a takeaway, my favourite curry house was closed and so too where many other takeaways however a couple of kebab takeaways where still open so we decided to order some kebabs and chicken and fries which costed a total of £13 as they did a huge new years discount.

we got home and waited and then after 20 minutes the food arrived we devoured through it all so quickly and to be honest i forgot what it all tasted like and exactly how much i ate but i know i ate a lot. whilst eating we watched the fireworks on the TV as here in the UK London does a huge fireworks ceremony just like new York, Sydney and others.

shortly after the fireworks concluded we finished the remains of of our food before watching some tv and then heading to bed at around 1am.

WEDNESDAY NEW YEARS DAY

its now new years day and i woke up very late into the day at almost midday feeling a little hungover from the night prior. after i got up i had lots of cereal and coffee to give myself a little boost. I didn't do much on new years day I mostly spent it hanging out on discord servers and watching movies until late afternoon when we decided to cook a roast dinner we would've had it for lunch but we decided to have it in the evening instead, being a chicken lover i ate lots of chicken and gravy with some carrots and Yorkshire puddings.

After eating and cleaning dishes i put on a couple animated shows the first being Family guy i haven't watched for a few years now but i have box sets of the seasons 11, 12 and 14 so i decided to watch a few episodes. After watching a few episodes of family guy i decided to watch Friends Friends is my favourite television show and despite not owning any box sets i have watched every episode.

After watching them it was time to have a shower and start getting all set for bed but before that i played some splinterlands.

THURSDAY

I was awaken to a loud knock at the door i jumped outta bed and sprinted to the stairs but my family had already answered the door.

it was a big box it was my computer! i quickly got down the stairs to open my parcel and there it was my first ever computer it had arrived i was so exited i took it to my room and set it all up i turned it on and... nothing.

i couldn't get the monitor on i tried everything plugging it in different ways, switching wires even used other types of cables but still nothing i was mad i was sad. I asked around on discord and along came @wesphilbin and a user known on discord as @drakernoise who kindly gave me advice and even researched for me what to do and i continued trying everything late into the evening but still nothing after that i called it quits till tomorrow.

FRIDAY

Friday arrived and i woke up at around 8 and grabbed a bowl of cereal and prepared for the day. I had another go at trying to get my computer to work but still no luck and decided to leave it and continue with the day. The weather was cold but dry for a change so i decided to go for a walk over to the local store too buy some electric for the house and a can of sugar free soda.on my way back i suddenly felt annoyed about the computed and decided you know what lets take it apart bearing in mind I have never owned a computer and never took anything electrical apart but i decided to do it.

i was given advice from Wes and Drakernoise and with there help i went through with opening up the PC the side door slides off with a pull of a lever and i was in the first thing i saw was a hard drive and lots or wires i hesitantly unscrewed a screw and began sliding stuff and lightly pulling until things moved.

firstly i kept all the wires attached so when i did move stuff i just moved then over a bit to get to where i needed to get to. The first thing i did was eject the Cmos battery (little coin looking thing and then put it back in then as i have moved everything i was finally able to see the Ram and decided to disconnect the ram give it a gentle wipe being very delicate before reconnecting them to where they needed to be before putting everything back and putting the cover back on and when i plugged it all back in it switched on and this time the monitor did too. I was no longer stuck on power saving mode screen finally i was able to use the computer.

i spent the rest of the evening on the computer installing apps and browsing steem on a computer.

SATURDAY

i went to bed quite late the night prior but i did wake up just after 9 and spent the morning chatting to family and cleaning the house. In the afternoon i watched the football as it is FA cup weekend and i specifically focused on the game Preston north end v Norwich city,Manchester united v Wolves after the football it had already gone 7pm and i decided to have some cheeseburgers before going to my room to go on the computer i spent the rest of the evening on the computer writing a post browsing discord and playing splinterlands in which i actually tested obs software to record myself playing splinter lands and it all went quite well.

SUNDAY

today i got up at around 10am and socialised in a couple servers on discord and at midday i decided to deep clean my room, my room was already clean but i wanted to change how my room looked and i moved my drawers and bed around. This also gave me the opportunity to create my setup for my computer and stuff though its nothing fancy.

IMG_2830.JPGIMG_2829.JPG

As you can see its not that good of a setup this double bed takes up so much room but thankfully when i want to use this computer i can slide the bed over to make room for a dining chair to fit in it will still be uncomfortable as my knees wont have nowhere to go but as of now im happy with this set up for now. if you look very closely you can see that the mouse pad is actually not a mouse pad its actually a pair of jeans as the mouse doesn't recognise the surface but does recognise the jeans.

Its now Sunday evening I am now finishing this post its 19:46 and just about time to wrap up this sublime Sunday post.

Thank you so much for reading my post

I’m very glad that you managed to overcome your fears about trying and sort the issue with your new computer. You not only achieved to make it work but you also learned a useful lesson about tech: info, patience and persistence are key words on this 😁
Hugs’n love over there ❤️

Sounds like a busy week! I also spent some time last week doing some cleaning and reorganisation of my work room/office. Sometimes just small tweaks and changes are enough to give you a renewed sense of energy.

I'm glad you were able to get that Pc going my friend. Like I said... it's always the little things that seem like mountains! Off topic... if you haven't... try mixing some curry powder in your ketchup... it tastes awesome with some french fries!

Wow that’s a massive story, sounds like you had an epic Christmas. I was in bed at 10pm New Year’s Eve being an old man, although to be fair my body now just has random ideas when it wants me to sleep, sometimes early others it just is quite happy staying up half the night.

Computer specs sound good, boy of a rum deal it not working out of box. I built my boys gaming rig November 2017 from scratch ordered the parts online - in fact if you hunt back far enough you will find my blog posts on it. I future proofed it enough it still runs all the last eat VR games and really graphic heavy ones like Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint on extreme settings - while being whisper quiet - but the I did fit 5 led system fans into it lol

I’m expecting an even longer post this Sunday - better get writing now!
