Space Force 3: Chapter Five

"Commander Blue, we're picking up signs of a planet."

"Take us in. Let's see what it's got."

The crew's Space Shuttle, aptly named Space Shuttle, was diverted from it's initial course toward the planet that just came into sensor range. Pink wanted to name it Planet M, for Mystery. No one else really had any thoughts on it, so that's what they named it.

"Sensors indicate a breathable atmosphere, rocky terrain, possible life."

Blue nodded sagely. "We'll take two vehicles. The Rover and the Shuttle." The Rover was the teams ground based rover. The Shuttle was the teams airborne shuttle to get them to and from the Space Shuttle.

Blue and White went to explore; Blue in the Shuttle, White in the Rover. Blue, from a higher vantage point, could see farther.

"It's definitely rough terrain," Blue called down over the radio. "Be careful. I'm also picking up some form of life ahead. Be more careful."

White continued in the rover, making her way over rocks and boulders. Before long they saw what appeared to be a large cat approach from the distance.

"Commander," White called over the radio. "There appears to be what looks like a large cat approaching from the distance. Going to investigate."

Blue kept an eye from above as the big cat approached White and as White approached the big cat, cautiously.

"It looks... angry," White said as she neared. Now hesitant, she ceased her approached. "Very angry."

White and Blue both eyed the cat another moment then, silently, backed away the way they came. "Nothing of importance here."

Oh I've gotten these down almost to a science! Unless I'm focused on moving the arms and legs (which I wasn't this time), it only took me about 30 minutes.

Pretty simple. I would love to have a go, just not sure my camera can pause a video recording then resume.

I use my phone for this. There is an Android program (I'm not sure if it's available on iOS) called Rough Animator that makes building the actual stop motion really easy. It does so much more than I use it for, but since the photos are already on the phone, it's nearly as simple as importing them, setting the frame rate, and exporting.

Ah ok, I use a Samsung S9 so I'll take a look at that. Could be a bit of fun.
