Fungi Friday - TINY UMBRELLAS IN THE DARK

For this Friday I prepared a small collection of very small mushrooms ... ... that I photographed through the last ten years or so ... (Enlargeable) ... in the dense coastal forest near the village called Shishan ... about 6 kilometers from where I live. (Enlargeable) I don't know the name ... nor anything else about these obscure little species ...  ... I just know how they look ... ... and I know that with the right combination of shadow and light ... ... these elegant miniatures can look spectacular. (Enlargeable) All the photographs were taken in the forest ... ... on the ground ... ... on the bark ... ... or small branches ... ... of the trees ... ... mostly the evergreen oaks (Quercus Ilex )... ... that along with the laurel (Laurus nobilis) ... ... makes most of this dense native Mediterranean forest ... that has disappeared from many surrounding places. This is a rich, humid habitat ... ! ... where you can find many amazing plants and small animals, but you have to patiently search through the dense vegetation that hides them. I took these photographs using a 100 mm macro lens and an external ring flash ... on the following few photographs ... (Enlargeable) ... you can see the same mushrooms ... (Enlargeable) ... illuminated in slightly different ways ... ... each way ... ... reveals or emphasizes something else .... THE END. As always in these posts on Steemit, all the photographs are my work.

Wow nice lighting setup on these guys. I seem to remember looking up these mushrooms once but I forgot the name...
