1888 Canada Victoria One Cent

OBVERSE

The portrait in left profile of Victoria is surrounded with the inscriptions "CANADA" and "VICTORIA DEI GRATIA REGINA"

REVERSE

The face value is encircled with maple leaves wrapped around a vine.

I'm sure i got one of these 1888s in an old Whitman coin holder somewhere buried under a pile of stuff.
I bet you even have a 1888 Morgan, 1888 British Crown, 1888 Bulgarian Silver Leva... maybe not on the Bulgarian. Would make an interesting collecting theme, always with love 🌺🤗💝🌹🎂

That is a beautiful coin, but an uncirculated 1888 Morgan (even MS64) is very easy to find and it is very affordable. Of course, wearing an uncirculated 1888-S will only be possible after winning the Lotto...

It is so cool not only because it is a very old coin which survived so many years of circulation (so many cents and pennies get lost and thrown away), but also because it is 1888.. all my favorite lucky numbers- 1 & triple 8s!

My pleasure and thank you i do like to drop in now and then you always have some interesting coin on display and i really do actually love coins but it does sadden me looking at all these beautiful collectors coins ..Why because it brings sad memories back to i did have a great collections of coins years ago and when my house was broken into they were all stolen i hate to think what they would be worth now but that's life this was about 30 years ago 🤔
