Thursday Tubular Journey: Fractional Gold #2 - The 2020 American Gold Eagle

Come along with me on my journey to complete a tube of fractional gold coins!

This is the second coin for my year 2020 fractional gold tube. I ordered this gold coin while still on a pre-sale status from all precious metals dealer. Technically, it is a first release.

1/10 oz Gold American Eagle BU

The 1/10 oz Gold Eagle coin has been one of the top-most popular gold coins from the United States Mint since its 1986 introduction. It often competes with the 1 oz Gold Eagles for the top spot among the gold bullion series. The first time it outsold the 1 oz coin was 1995 and other important sales years in which it was the top-selling coin include 1996 and 1999 through 2002.


Coin Highlights:
  • 35th issue year in the 1/10 oz American Gold Eagle release.
  • Contains 1/10 Troy oz of actual gold content in BU condition.
  • Issued at a face value of $5 (USD) by the United States.
  • Lady Liberty from Augustus Saint-Gaudens on the obverse, American bald eagles from Miley Busiek on the reverse.

Obverse
The obverse of 2020 1/10 oz American Gold Eagle Coins includes the design of Lady Liberty created by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. This iconic image featured on the $20 Gold Double Eagle from 1907 to 1933 and depicts Liberty as the guiding force leading America into an unknown future.
Reverse
Depicted on the reverse of 2020 American Gold Eagle Coins is a family of American bald eagles. The design was created in 1986 by Miley Busiek specifically for use on the American Gold Eagles. It shows a male eagle flying above the family nest with a female eagle and hatchling inside.

From the flip, the American Gold Eagle is transfered to an airtite capsule, then into the tube.
The tube with two fractional gold coins goes back in the keepsake wooden box! And we shall go through the same excercise when fractional gold No.3 joins the tube.

Following a strategy and a plan is the only way I can keep my focus, bestie. Otherwise, I will find myself having several boxes of miscellaneous coins and silver, and not really stacking, just like (before I started stacking) when I finally realized that I had stuff and fluff all over the place that didn't make sense at all and with no real value at all.

It is surely fun to do a tubular goal. A stacking mantra for small-time stackers like me has always been "slow and steady". The challenges and effort entailed in completing a tube of precious metals provide sufficient satisfaction and makes everything worthwhile for me and encourages me to continue on.

Hehehe.... I need to check comments on that side. @davedickeyyall helped me in setting up the account. But somehow, we couldn't get the keys to work. I originally wanted goldsaver888 which he wsa able to acquire for me (so that it is more consistent and recognizable by our stacker friends), but then we lost the master key. To make a long story short...three accounts were opened with gold and saver names, then eventually it became @gold-saver. It reminds me... I have to tell him!
